Spreadsheet, version 2

I know they system doesn't play for several games, thought it would be worth posting this now.

Still cut and paste, but it should now check for B2B and for the line.

If you see any issues, let me know, and I'll fix it as soon as I can.

YOU STILL NEED TO MAKE SURE THE LINE IS CORRECT!!! There's not much I can do if the source where I'm getting the data has a wrong line.

If going into another version, is there another thread to track those results? I don't feel we should track two systems in one thread.

It's the same system. The initial version of the spreadsheet didn't check for back-to-back, or for the line being too high. You still had to do that manually. This version of the spreadsheet now checks for back-to-back games and for the line being double digits. So, it a new version of the spreadsheet, not a new version of the system.

It doesn't do anything with injuries, so people will still be able to argue about those (not that anything I put in the spreadsheet would stop that anyway

).

Barts... thanks for all your hard work.

Gave it a test drive last night. One line was wrong on the website... New Jersey was listed as 75 instead of 7.5

Just wondering about the B to B formulas. Only B to B game that worked was Memphis.

Minnesota, Utah, Miami, LA Clippers, Dallas, & Sacramento vs. Golden State were all playing B to B games last night???

If you want to see which teams are playing back to back (not just for selected games), look in the Home Rest (column B) and Road Rest (column D). Anything with a value of zero means that team is playing back to back.

The Check for B2B (column S) is only used when a team has passed the qualifying math. The same is true for Check line (column T).

I've attached the spreadsheet from Wednesday the way it came out when I ran it, not sure why you were having problems.

I'm not sure if the question about back-to-back was a question or just a comment. On Wednesday, there were 14 teams that were playing back to back. To run down the schedule
Memphis
Minnesota
Detroit
Chicago
New York
Miami
New Jersey
Houston
Utah
Phoenix
Dallas
Sacramento
Golden State
Los Angeles Clippers

were the teams that played back to back on Wednesday.

Glad to help.

Regarding the record, all I'll say it that it's winning at a decent rate. Any more than that, and you'd have to specify how you are handling injuries (see through the thread for the injury discussions / disagreements) .

MEM -7 or less (could have laid -4.5 overnight, mostly 5.5 now)

ATL -5 or less (opened -5.5, mostly -4.5 now) passes the math, but this is only their 3rd game after the all-star break, so no play. FWIW, personally, I like ATL here, and am playing them at the cheapest number I wind up getting, but not because of the system since they don't qualify yet.

Monday, February 22nd.

ATL qualifies mathwise, but they are on back to back so no play (after blowing yesterday's 18 point 3rd quarter lead, not sure I'd want to back them here anyway).

No line on the CHA/LAC game, due to injury questions, but pending injuries, LAC would be a play at +3, CHA would be a play at +8. I don't expect either of those numbers to exist without injuries, so would guess no play today.
