ST, I've made almost all my money in the last year on 3 team teasers (8 pts in hoops and 10 pts in football). Why? Because those 8 and 10 pts give you the advantage over the books, but only when there are a lot of games to choose from.
Not everyone can bring themselves to play the teasers because of the notion you need 3 teams to cover. But if you think about it, if you have enough games to choose from then most times you only need 1 team to cover and you're getting 8 additional points!
For example, the Lakers, Celtics and the Spurs were no-brainers. I was 99% certain they would win all by at least 2-3 pts. But let's say one of those teams was not "available", then I only needed to find 1 more team to cover their spread PLUS getting 8 additional points, out of 13 games to choose from! I know I can do that 70% of the time.
Sure, sometimes the "no-brainer" is going to lose, but if you play the best teams in the league you'll win way more than you lose. And if I think a top team is due for an upset, I'll take the 8 with the dog and hope they can cover 16-22 pts, which they usually do.Comment -

Guys - Shaq is done. He is going to ruin this year for the Cavs IMO. They are going to be in the mid/low 50's win totals and that 3 spot will be pushed by the Wizards and Hawks.

OK here is what we know so far:
1. The Celtics are the leading title contenders because they play better defense than anyone, including the Lakers
2. Orlando is the same Orlando from last year, they live and die by the outside shot. They will win 55-60 games but I don't see them getting past a healthy Celtics team (see #1)
3. The Cavs are done, stick a fork in them. They don't have enough scorers, and Lebron can't carry them against good teams
4. The Lakers are the same Lakers as last year, they will play like they are disinterested, and do just enough to win most games. The key will be how they perform against the elite teams. But so far I don't see anyone but the Celtics being able to beat them
5. Denver?
6. Everyone else will be watching the Celtics, Lakers, Magic and/or Nuggets in the FinalsComment -

Cleveland doesn't have a reliable shooter other than Lebron. Look at the Celtics and Magic, they have 4-5 shooters who can keep you in a game or help you put a team away. Who does Cleveland have who can create their own shot and score in droves? No one besides Lebron, and you can't beat the best teams like that. Jordan had Pippen, Paxson, Kerr et al, Lebron has no one of their caliber.Comment -
