Whats up with the 76ers?? Brett Brown is going to be the next Doc Rivers!
So, last night the 76ers beat the Kings. They were on a back2back and just flew home from Chicago. They were without their best player Ebiid. They shot 46% in the first half yet down 7 at intermission. The #13th team in the East... The night is lost right?

The 76ers score 74 points on 62% shooting in the 2nd half. 122 points for the game and only one player over 20 pts with 23. Nine guys played significant minutes. They are making Brown look like a genius after he was leading the tanking machine for 3 years. Remember when the Celtics were collecting picks before Garnett and Ray Allen?

The Sixers are 4.5 games out of the 8th spot (They really needed that win against the Bulls on Sunday). Embiid is only playing 23 minutes when he does play. Ben Simmons hasn't seen the floor yet. They very likely will get a top 4-10 pick in the next draft and could get 11-30 from Sacramento. They have trade bait.

On top of that they have cap space with all the rookie contracts. Griffin, Durant, Hayward, Chris Paul and Lowry are all free agents. 2 big time PGs. And then there is Jeff Teague, JJ Reddick, Iguodala Wade...

It sounds crazy but Sixers might be a Kyrie Irving ankle away from coming out of the East in 2018.

    Building a serious contender.

    Embid is special.

I cannot wait to see Simmons in this rotation.

Will James bolt and go to Philly? His contact is up. He could win a few more rings.

It sure seems they're building a powerhouse and it would be great as Philadelphia's a basketball city

The is getting weaker and weaker which is good for Philadelphia

Cleveland's on it's last legs this year

Yeah JJ it makes sense. LeBron could end up with 6 or 7 rings. He could take it easy there as well since they are stacked.

By next yr embiid minutes restriction will be lifted, his restriction on back to back games will be lifted and philly will have gotten rid of jahlil Okafor fatass and nerlens Noel paving the way for all the touches embiid can handle

I think Lebron is probably a good guy. Not too many guys who grow up fatherless that you can throw millions at and wont go off the rails... but definitely put me on the list of those SICK of hearing the name Lebron. He would probably tell me to suck it bitch and start laughing because we may have another 30 years...

Not to mention they have the Lakers 1st round pick this year, top 3 protected but if it doesn't convey then its unprotected next year. Plus the option to swap 1st round picks with the Kings if they get lucky and win a good spot in the draft lottery this year, AND the Kings 1st round pick, unprotected, in 2019. The Cavs wanted to acquire T J McConnell from the Sixers but with him playing so well they tuned down the offer. If they could somehow get something of value for Okafor, they'll be in a great spot for next year. The big question in my mind is if they can re-sign Noel to a contract, restricted free agent this year and Boston will throw a lot of cash at him because he is exactly what they need, an athletic rim protector who can run the floor and guard faster players.

What about keeping Okafor and trading Noel now? You can tell they are trying to showcase Okafor now... making him a starter that gets less minutes than his backup.

completely disagree here....Okafor just does not play defense and is a huge liability......not a big Noel fan as well but the guy can run the court - hoping Simmons back next month

I didn't think to highly of Brown... but he's making things click over there.

Philadelphia winning games... Great for the NBA. I hope they keep on winning.

He is going to want a lot of money though. Why not sign a free agent AND get another 1st rounder. Embiid is going to be a max contract.

True but ol Riles actually did something. If Embiid's foot didnt break the second time where is Hinkie? If Okafor and Noel turned out to be studs then what ? IF IF IF... poor Sammy.

Its funny how everyone blames him for 3 years of losing. As if Jabari Parker or Wiggins would have put them in the playoffs... like Sam could have flipped the switch with 3 more Ish Smiths. He should have been able to GM the team he made...hated to see him get the boot after getting the Sixers to the promise land.
