There is a reason I've had a Westbrook avatar the last four years
People have always thought I was crazy for saying I would take Westbrook over Durant if the day ever came. Well, the day has come.

Westbrook is a competitor and doesn't take the easy way out.

The only person I've ever seen take Russell Westbrook out of a game is Russell Westbrook. I saw Durant get shutdown numerous times. Durant is soft. A great scorer, but soft.

Durant was an eye lash from a title and what does he do in the off-season? Work harder? Get stronger? Come back meaner? Hell no. He turns his back on his team and fans and goes to a 73 win team hoping his shots will come easier.

What's Westbrook do? He says f*ck you I'm going to take this challenge head on.

Westbrook is an alpha. Durant is a follower that is easily persuaded. Durant always said the right things. He said OKC was his home. He said the fans meant everything to him. He said he loved the city and his teammates. He said he wanted to retire his jersey here. Well, talk is cheap. I'll take Westbrook's actions over Durant's talk anyday.

Durant can continue acting like he is a tough guy to the media and try to play the villian role even though we all know it's phony. At least with Westbrook, you know what you're getting.

Dude will do some crazy stuff but at least he'll leave it on the court. OKC went from potentially being a lottery team to still having a chance to compete for a 4 or 5 seed in the West.

Westbrook, Oladipo, Adams, & Kanter is a nice lineup.

    Westbrook you da real MVP.

3 years is not loyalty but it makes for good headlines. ESPN sighs in relief

Sure it is. If he leaves after three years because the team isn't progressing or contending, no one is going to be mad at him. It would be dumb to sign for any longer anyway. I don't blame him.

He pretty much picked the franchise back up.

He could have easily left. He is going to try to be the man and make it work. If it doesn't work, no hard feelings for leaving in a few years.

Who can't respect that? Even if Durant wins a title with the Warriors, Westbrook will always be the people's champ and Durant will be the guy that took an easy way out.

No matter what he does, he will be loved.

Even if he leaves after two years at least he tried to compete when things got tough and he gave it a shot.

quick reminder, remember OKC records when Durant out for most of the year and the OKC records when westbrook out for most of the year?? That's right OKC a 60+ wins team even without westbrook, and OKC couldnt make playoffs when Durant went out most of the year. You should know whos the real mvp on taht team.

This. OKC ass in 2014/2015 with Durant out. Westbrook was putting up huge numbers but that team just doesn't have the backup

Reggie Jackson replaced Westbrook. Who replaced Durant? Anthony Morrow was it? K.Singler? Not really a fair comparison.

He just didn't want to look like an ass come free agency. KD leaving, WB, the owner dying, etc. it's just too much too soon. OKC is still a solid team especially during this small ball era, GS offense is too good though.

Nobody drives to the rim better.

But he can go into full idiot mode and take his team out of games also as I watched several times this year.
