LAL -6.5 at Pinny. The total will likely drop a little bit (2 points or so IMO), but yeah I think game 2 will be much higher scoring that game 1 and much more competitive.

Totals are now out 203.5 for game 2. Which seems like a much better number than the original 206 set out. I think I am going to do some more research and look at line movement before placing a bet. At least we don't have to wait 5 days for a game like last time.

Orlando+9.5 with a 3 point buy is the appropriate call for Game 2. If the Lakers win it won't be by double digits. Orlando may end up catching points at home if they get blown out again in game 2. I'm banking on them keeping it close enough to get the cover. If they win, then that makes my game 3 bet for the Lakers just that much more sweeter.

on a side note, i was really hoping to cash in on the kobe over 8 made free throws prop. it ended up pushing. i would check this prop out next game and think about it if the number is 8-ish, which is about his average in this year's playoff games (7.6 prior to game one of the finals), blowouts included. hell, this was a blowout and he still hit 8-8 in 5 trips to the line with two and-ones. will kobe make his first free throw appearance in the second half again in game two? doubtful. i'll be looking at this prop for game two. also, dwight howard beat his over prop easily at plus money for over 7.5 free throws. even if the magic lose, he's still a tough matchup for anyone the lakers can throw at him, thus plenty of trips to the line. he's been shooting better from the line lately so i would look for off kilter lines there as well. i didn't want to take a chance on him and took the kobe line, and have been kicking myself. i'll take dwight's over in game 2 if it's plus, otherwise i'll probably psych myself out again.

I know Alston was terrible last night. But Jameer Nelson was nothing spectacular himself. It looks like he had 5-6 shots blocked and seemed rather passive. However he did make some impressive passes. I think they will need to and will pick up the pace in game 2 by switching off Nelson and Alston at much smaller intervals.

I'm also reading a lot about the Magic taking both games this year and that they're better, the trend is with them, etc.

Come on guys. Everybody likes the underdog, but Orlando isn't that much of a dog I think. The Lakers have home court advantage, experience, depth etc. to take this in as many games as it takes.

The Howard FT prop is solid. He's almost guaranteed to get fouled a lot in every game, and so I plan to take it in every game. The Kobe one hurt last night, and actually surprised me. Not fouling Kobe apparently is part of the Magic's strategy...

Those bettors who are on the Lakers, the moneyline is the appropriate play in game 2. It's a bit steep but just close your eyes and imagine that you are wagering on a heavy soccer match favorite and it will be easier to stomach. Taking the Lakers-6.5 in game 2 is monetary suicide. It is one of the only games in this series that Orlando will have a chance to win at the end, and that includes their home games. You will get maximum effort by Orlando on defense and a 50 point night from Kobe anyway. Lakers win game 2 by 3 points or less.

not only that, he wasn't really getting the normal kobe calls. even the commentators were surprised when they realized kobe's first trip to the line was in the third. they were letting them play. surprising, to say the least.

but you're probably right, though...dwight's prop will probably be stronger than kobe's in game two given the circumstances. they have to go to dwight first and foremost before they jack up shots if they have any prayer of winning a game in this series. and the lakers have to foul dwight if they have any chance of slowing him down. andrew bynum blows.

i've never really played props, so this is kind of fun. it forces you to think about the game from a totally different angle.

Lakers contested every pass into Howard the whole game which is where their good defense stops because they were leaving terrific shooters practically wide open and they just missed. good shooters make wide open shots- the nuggets missed wide open shots if you didnt notice in the last couple of games. im telling you right now that the magic will consistently keep missing open shots in this series and you still wont admit that it is the lakers strategy as you know that it gets into the mind of the shooter when he is wide open and he starts thinking more and ends up missing more often then when it is contested a bit. even if the magic shoot 29 or 45% they will lose this series because any basketball fan knows that teams that live and die by 3pt shots dont win titles. as the series goes on folks like yourself are going to keep making excuses like the magic didnt shoot well or howard was in foul trouble or turk had a shit game or nelson fukked up the chemistry or van gundy is an idiot or pietrus had a good series last round but is having an off series and etc. the bottom line remains that orlando will win 1 game in this series as any knowledgeable fan can see that kobe wants it more than orlando and that is all that matters

No matter what Orlando does theyre still gonna have problems with Lakers big front court. Look at the numbers in rebounds and points in the paint from the last game its ridiculous.
