I'm never on the right side of a Portland game. When I bet against them, Lillard, Mathews and Aldridge never miss. When I bet on them they can't buy a shot. It is day and night with these guys.

Just curious as to what gives you that indication - Rondo is a complete mess since joining Mavs and particularly lately. Ellis has been extremely streaky and same with Dirk. Just curious if there is an angle here other than they will light it up?

I do agree - their 2nd unit has been a nice surprise and that is where production has been coming from.

On the other hand, I am starting to think Portland is built to make a run - they have depth and 2 legit superstars.

Rondo & Ellis just scored 19 & 20 in their last game & Dirk is starting to get back on his scoring...I think they'll continue what they've been started..before Mavs is #1 in offensive rating but went down to #10 after Rondo' trade... i think they'll start improving on their offense

Line does seem low. Anytime you have a team at home with a better record than their opponent and the spread is 3 or less you have to question the line.

They might be looking at the Chicago line. But then again the line was moved there, when it reopened the OT factor only moved it half a point then it was pounded down all the way to where it is now.

Portland opening -2 over Dallas (without Parsons too) is definitely a headscratcher to me, even with the OT thing.

Portland blew a game where they were up 11 with 2 minutes to go in Dallas just 3 weeks ago or so FWIW.

Yea I remember that. I didn't watch but I had the Blazers there.

Honestly, to me, not really. They haven't really had a stretch this season where you think "wow this team is gonna be hard to deal with come playoff time". The only "good" wins they've had this year:

@ Toronto (DeRozan got injured in the 3rd quarter, have proven since to possibly be frauds)
@ Washington (Have proven since to be frauds)
@ Chicago (needed a late miracle)
vs OKC (w/o Durant)
vs Portland (played like shit for 90% of the game, needed a late miracle)
@ Memphis (this one was a great win)
vs Houston (not a particularly convincing game but a good win)

Many of them had ifs and buts. They need guys playing much better if they want to get where they want to get. Ellis has been playing like shit since the injury he had right before the break. Rondo has been a well documented headcase on and off the court. Dirk isn't playing that well either (although with him you can sense is saving himself a bit for the playoffs).
