Although he initially foresaw playing longer, there are growing concerns around the persistent injuries to his lower body. His title chase of Michael Jordan will come up just short with 5 NBA championship rings, barring some sort of Laker miracle this year.

There are reports circulating now that Kobe will continue to play basketball beyond this season. Let's hope this is true and not just some ruse to manipulate my emotions.

I used to be a fan of kobe's but now he is just annoying. He had a great chance to win with Dwight Howard and he couldn't help himself , just had to be a douche. Same thing with shaquille, etc. Last year he knew signing that contract wouldnt allow Gasol or anyone of value to sign with the Lakers and then he birches about how much they suck, wtf?

Now he will torture us all with an attempt at a Jeter-isk swan song season. Except, despite how well he plays no one will be giving him standing ovations or easy lay ups.

There is no denying he's the next best player of my generation (born '79) next to Michael Jordan, but it certainly has not been enjoyable for anyone to have him lingering around around like an old sore, especially for the Lakers.
