#38Ok, there a general common sense rule of thumb when evaluating the level of ones basketball knowledge/expertise.....If you don't know the proper spelling of players names, especially ones that have been in the league for 15 yrs & have multiple all-star appearances & even an NBA Championship........You simply cannot be taken seriously!!
Ratboy aka Menses....it's not Shawn Merion...It's Shawn Marion!!
This should be an obvious sign to all that whoever doesn't know this also obviously hasn't a clue.
Do yourself a favor Ratboy (Menses), learn the proper spelling of players names, especially 15yr vets. You repeatedly have misspelled names in the past & it really hurts your credibility pal.Comment -

#39Let me see if I understand what Ratboy/Menses is claiming now...Steve Blake really hasn't been playing through injury like it's been publicly reported for months now?? He really doesn't have a torn UCL in his elbow like the testing from doctors has proved?? But instead Steve Blake is "faking" the injury because he "hates" Kobe??
Seriously, bro....get a fukking life & a clue why you're at it. Kobe has five more rings than you do & will go down in history as one of the top 10 if not top 5 players of all-time & there's nothing you will ever be able to do about it except continue to lose sleep over it. Stop embarrassing yourself, it honestly is pathetic.Comment -

a Top 10 Player could never have a single MVP award... how is that possible?
kobe has a Single Championship to his name (if that)
A) three belong squarely to Shaq,
B) and the fourth belongs to David Stern who gave the Lakers 20 FTs in the 4th Qtr alone..
in a Game 7.. with Perkins out.
Kobe shot 6-of-24 and completely failed his team..
problem is the game was between the CELTICS and the LAKERS
they have met 12 TIMES.... in the Finals
*going into the 2009 Championship Series..
*the Celtics were ahead 9-2**(ouch!)in Finals matchups vs. the Lakers..
*
David Stern could not have that go 10-2 (which was happening)
so he squeaked out the win for LA... to keep it at 9-3 Boston.
but the fact remains, that Boston beat them in 2008, and in 2009
*kobe's single ring came against the seriously undermanned Orlando Magic

#41Unfortunately for you buddy the Finals MVP & the championship isn't given to the player or team that has the player that shoots the best % from the field in game 7.....It's actually given to the best player or the player that had the best series on the winning team. That player was KOBE BRYANT!! The #'s speak for themselves, the end result speaks for itself. There's nothing you can do about it & your tired excuses make you look ignorant.
I guess according to your logic LeBron has zero rings then because his first didn't count (short season) & the second certainly doesn't count cause it really belongs to Ray Allen & Pop??
Is this your logic.
Just try to get some sleep pal. It's very unhealthy to stay up every night in disgust that Kobe actually has 5 rings & will go down in history as a top 10 if not top 5 player of all time. FACE REALITY & stop embarrassing yourself, there's NOTHING you can do about it.Comment -

#43Just b/c the mofo has a lot of rings does not make him a decent human being. F.ck him. The Lakers will be a great fade for the rest of the season, starting from tomorrow. PS MJ is also not a very decent human being but he did display the true greatness in the fairly stupid art of putting the ball into the hoop.Comment -

#44Kobe has an MVP, to whoever said he does not. He will be a top 10 player in 10 years, and should be a top 5 player for at least 20. You guys keep on claiming he makes his teammates worse- which I agree he has the past two games, but that does not justify the way he played last year. Kobe Bryant last year, just before his injury, was amazing. It was incredible to watch, and that's what makes Kobe so incredible: He wants to win. They were on the edge of playoffs, or bust. I don't think he's worried about winning right now, I think he wants to stay healthy and is nervous, but in a few weeks he'll be over that. I would not fade the Lakers, I think they get pretty generous spreads already being power ranked as about an 18 right now. I like the +12 tomorrow against OKC for instance.
I just want to see Nick Young getting playing time, the kid has a future in the NBA. He'll be an All-Star someday.

No it doesn't. Again, there's nothing you can do about it besides the usual blame the refs, but Kobe Bryant has five championships not 1 like you claim & will go down in history as a top 10 or maybe even top 5 player of all time. The next 5 games doesn't change that.
You laugh all u want, but the damage has already been done. You had to sit in a pool of tears & sleepless nights for 15 yrs & now you get to laugh for 5 games....Truly a pathetic life you live.Comment -

but now.. ALL OF A SUDDEN.. when Kobe is back, and Blake work load has actually decreased..
the pain is too much for him to bear.
in the Game prior when the Lakers beat Kings IN Sacramento : Blake played 39 Min.
in the Kobe Game when the Lakers were embarrassed by Toronto at the Staples: Blake 30 Min.
you can't read between the lines?
i am glad you do not work for the Police.

#49in the game vs. PHX, Blake was the ONLY Laker starter with a Plus rating, all others were in the Negative
Box score for the Phoenix Suns vs. Los Angeles Lakers NBA game from December 10, 2013 on ESPN. Includes all points, rebounds and steals stats.
but minutes back up, and Lakers lost by 6 instead of 12 pts.
but the way ESPN spins it, Kobe was great, and the rest of the team failed him.
"ESPN:*Kobe Bryant leads Lakers with 20 points but Suns hold on for*win"
http://espn.go.com/nba/recap?id=400489190
it's infuriating for a player to do your job well, and get blamed for the loss that someone else created.
that headline should read :
"ESPN:*Steve Blake ONLY player with Plus Rating, and Suns hold on for win"
how can Kobe have played better than Blake, when Kobe was a Negative Rating, and Blake was a Positive Rating??!!
it's NOT just PTS scored.*

#50How do you know they are catching up to him? He's played 2 games. 2 GAMES.
If in a month he's still struggling then yeah it'll be time to start worrying.
Age isn't on his side though and he will eventually slow down for sure, but I wouldn't be so sure that's gonna happen this year.
I agree a month will be a proper gauge of his level.
I hope not because I enjoy watching Kobe as a casual fan still. People talk about the Dodgers and while they are on the upswing the Lakers are LA, and most of So-Cal. Kobe deserves credit for keeping it that way the last decade. Anyways cheers.Comment -

#51Uscope...Its been some time...was beginning to wonder what had happened to you. A Menses Kobe rant could not be complete without your rebuttal........My diatribes are often filled with spelling errors...I am glad we can count on you to correct them...the posting feature on this forum has no spell check...LOL
And YES....STEVE BLAKE IS TAKING A LEAVE OF ABSENCE...I am well aware of his ongoing elbow problem...however...Blake has been PLAYING THROUGH the issue and was quite competent when doing so...He injured himself November 26....but continued to play and registered...
9 pts / 10 assists - November 27
2 pts / 10 assists - November 29
13 pts / 9 assists - Dec 1
13 pts / 10 assists - December 6
Blake... unbeknowinst to the average ignorant Laker Fan, is 9th in assists in the NBA....ahead of guys like Parker, Lillard, Lebron, Conley etc....Even injured he was still averaging 8 assists a game...that is UNTIL KOBE BRYANT..RETURNED...guess what happened to Blake's production?
3 pts / 4 assists - December 8th
I wonder why that is? Blake naturally is upset....and given his ongoing elbow issues, why bother to tough it out only to be neutralized by the presence of the NBA all time leading shot jacker? The ball will no longer be in his hands...Even though Kobe is a 2 guard, he is bringing the ball up as if he is a 1.....While Kobe is active, Nash and Blake are irrelevant.....they cannot run the offense as it should be run in D'antoni's system....Blake could stick around but why bother....everything he has done up until this point will be made null and void now that Kobe has returned...D'antoni knows it...the team knows it....only Kobe-Tards like you seem to not realize what is about to happen to this team.....Comment -
