must be talking about pistons (next to last) cause many teams have sold out every home game.

From what I saw just today every single one of the four arenas were empty. Miami of all places usually is a ghost town.

            Are you blind Deuce?
20 of the 30 NBA teams average 90% of capacity or better, and the very worst team (Philly) still averages almost 15,000 per night for 75% capacity.

Miami a ghost town - WTF? The Heat are a sell out every other night. It's just that every one in Miami is so cool that half of them don't rock up until the game is well under way...

Personally I hate the product the NBA has become. LBJ with "the decision" to leave his team and join the NBA All Stars in Miami along with Bosh and even Melo leaving Denver to team up with Stat etc. Maybe I just saw the game differently back in the day but it was awesome when there was talent spread all over the NBA. Role players were huge and it appeared to me that guys didn't just take nights off like I see now.

Uh Thanksgiving weekend coming? Not exactly your best baseline.

                That said, the NBA sucks.

It just depends on what your expectations are/how you see the league.

If you see the NBA as putting out legit pure sporting competition, then yeah obviously you are going to hate it. But if you see it for what it is, which is in the vein of WWE-style showmanship, then you will love it like I do.

I mean, imagine if you went to a professional wrestling event, expecting to see real competitive wrestling. Obviously, you are going to hate it. But if you go to a professional wrestling event expecting to experience it for what it is, which is Ted Nugent-esque pageantry and theater, then you are going to love it, as I do.

tickets are too expensive who the fukk wants to pay for parking $15 and then another 25-50 for a ticket, $8 for a beer to go see a game when you could use that money to buy beer and watch it at home and not have to risk getting a DUI..

or you could use that money to gamble. I could see maybe if you Lebron James on your hometown team but most teams dont have any real superstars

I noticed this as well. It does seem that the cameras are definately not spending too miuch time on the crowd.
My guess, Stern and the boys in NY mandated to keep the cameras on the floor/players.

80% full sold out my A**.

no way can that be the price ($50) to park the freaking car???

75-100 per ticket to see the Celtics play? wtf

                                          probably front row seats?

in the other day there was a promotion for a Thunders game (I think it was like 4 tickets $80)

I do not know where you live, but, I do not make this stuff up!!! Come to Boston & find out for yourself...And, the seats for 100. 00 are normal, not court side. I know the Celtics suck, but that does not add into the price. It is the venue....

NBA product isn't what it used to be in the 90s or even early 2000s(any team with prime Shaq/Duncan/Kobe/KG/Dirk/CWebb/AI etc would dominate the league this year with a decent supporting cast, when they were just one of many contenders in their time. IMO only LeBron/Durant from today would have been able to contend back then. AI would probably average near 40 PPG with the handcheck rules of today)

also compare the basketball fundamentals of superstars today from previous decades and notice a stark difference (players like Westbrook would have no more impact than say a Steve Francis back then, yet they are considered a superstar today)

NBA teams don't have to fill their arenas with these TV deals. And even then as Sando suggests 75% of the teams fill to "capacity".

Look at the Lakers extending Kobe for 48 million, they don't care, that will contribute to 5 times that amount in consumer television $$$. They are partners in TWC-Lakers channel. Same goes for many franchises, even the sorry Knicks.
