#72Wow, I think I am in the complete miniority with the consensus on my picks tonight, and on the other side to CK on a couple which I don't like. Still, going to let them play out. The match-ups tonight just seem like they could go anyway more than usual.

#77Dexter,
I've read almost all your posts and you seem a good capper, solid work etc.....so I'm wondering why you go against the JM system going with the unpredictable Pacers?? Just because rockets are full of injuries? and as u said "no artest or tmac tonight for houston - the rockets are 7-14 ats this year vs teams with a losing record, while the pacers are 7-1 ats after a loss of 10 or more points" --- only for this reason???Comment -

#82Let me chime in here....I know that injuries are a filter with the Morrison System but you MUST give it some leeway on those filters. The Rockets seem to actually play BETTER without McGrady. As for Artest...hmmm.
The system is hitting about 80% on the first game! It is 100% on the second game. Never went to three. Those are really hard numbers to go against.
Now on to what I like. You JUST have to like the Cleveland 1st QTR.. They win 73% of them and GS wins about 35% of them. Enough said for me.
Even though this line seems really strange to me I like Cleveland -6.5 against GS. The Cavs can play D anytime they want.....the Warriors cannot. Cleveland if it chooses to can run up and down the floor all day long...and we know that is what GS is going to try and do. I think Cleveland wins by at least 10.Comment -

#83hockeytown11,
We all go through cold streaks. It's just a part of the wagering process. As the front man for the CK Mafia, I catch heat when I go through a cold streak, but I know that in the end the good will outweigh the bad. Because of the way that I wager, I can go 1-4 on a day and actually make a huge profit due to units wagered if say I make a big wager for 3 dimes and win that one and lose the other 4 with only 3 hundred on them and one of them is an outright +650 dog winner on which I had the moneyline fading myself. You just have to know money management really well to get through those valleys.
With the way that I do things, you would have had some sweet paydays fading yourself with another sportsbook on the other opposing team's moneyline, especially when the dog won outright and you had the favorite. I do it as a habit, so that I don't just voluntarily give away my vigorish. So sometimes I laugh at the criticism, when I now that one or two of my losses actually made me more money than I put up on my favorite play.
But enough about that. Time to discuss the important things. Now you have had a chance to see that what I go through by picking my games (the night before) without benefit of watching the line movement and picking up some insurance points here and there I am sure that you can see that it is a little more difficult than it looks. I can think of 3 games right off hand during our competition that I would have won instead of lost by simply applying my key point theory. However, since we were in a competition I played those games at -110 anyway knowing that it is something that I normally wouldn't have done. And I was honorable about it, and didn't alter my lines in secret. And from seeing the results during the competition, I saw that you lost a few for the same reason (getting on top of or below key numbers). You have no idea how glad I will be t get back to my normal style of wagering on Sunday evening, lol!
But what I like and cherish moreso than anything, is that we have a newfound person to add to our fellowship, and that your advice and contributions to the thread are valuable, and we could always use any constructive dialogue that you may have in the future going forward. It is also admirable that you conducted yourself as a complete gentleman, and you have earned my respect. I look forward in the future to working with you as a colleague, and an integral part of our brotherhood. We need all the help we can get in this thing of ours.Comment -

#90That's good stuff, DevilDog,
Kind of hard to ignore the Cavs 1st quarter. They have been money at getting off to good starts this year.
The Warriors have Montae Ellis coming back and starting tonight, so he's sure to have butterflies in his belly for th first 6 minutes for sure. Big difference between playing against your homies and playing against another team. But with Captain Jack, Biedrins, Maggette, Crawford and Ellis on board along with the development of Morrow, Watson, Azubuike, and Bellini, the Warriors are gonna be a good team to wager on after the All-Star game, with all of that depth and a good coach. The time on the floor has developed the bench, and they should get continuous good production when the starters go out. I think that i will watch them for a few games or so until Montae has jelled with theteam a bit, and then you will start to see me on them whether i am taking the over or taking their side. I have to have my finger on the pulse of the Warriors right now, because once they start winning they will start getting ignorant spreads like they were last year. Remember Montae is the reason that Don Nelson felt that Baron Davis was expendable. For his part, Baron is tanking it in Los Angeles faking injuries, and battling with Coach Dunleavey Sr. The addition of Ellis is a wonderful thing for the Warriors to finish strong on the 2nd half of the season.Comment -

#91hockeytown11,
Don't parlay them. Play the 3 of them straight! Parlays are like throwing money at the bookie, which he will almost assuredly catch. The odds of hitting a three way are not too good. Go 50/50 on each selection, and if you have to do a parlay make it for 5 teams and only put $25.00 or so on it. You'll feel better about yourself only losing a quarter on a parlay than $500.00Comment -

#92Don't post much and I'm sure everyone who wants good picks and analysis appreciates that.
hockeytown11:
I feel for ya bro. Short of a bailout on the Cards and the over on Sunday, I would have lost 9 straight days. Still ended up down last week but could have been much worse. That being said, I am down 7 dimes this week and the only thing I can pick right now is the lint from my pockets. I'm now through my bankroll and into personal money and that is not a good thing. Hang in there. Going to follow for a night and hopefully break the chain. I would say that it can't get much worse but ....
ck:
Thx for the insights. Wish I would have listened.

#93thanks ck, I like that houston pick, it worries me that indy won last time they played, but if tmac is out houston plays better, and they have been on a nice little streak.
I also like the new york over.
I'll be tailing those straight out the gates to make back my lost money from tonights wizards debaucle. Im still up 500 for the week, but I would rather go down in flames than waste my time driving to meet the man for a measly 500.
Any suggestions on wagering amounts? I'm thinking 250 on houston, and 250 on knicks over, then take it from there - if those cover maybe a little run for the late games. More specifically cleveland and clippers.Comment -

#100Not many plays for me tonight. Liked the Cavs -6 until I found out Ellis is back. Don't know how well the starting 5 will play together. Staying away from them. NY looked good until the Memphis coach got fired, could work either way. Philly covered the day after their HC got fired. Harris is out for the Nets so for those of you playing the Morrison, one rule is never bet if a best player is out, Carter is the best, but an arguement can also be made for Harris as the best.
Houston should be good to get revenge for the last lost to Pacers

#102roller,
whatcha got tonight? And there's only one outsider who's stirring the pot on the board. That's the reason why i am handing im his hat. But the capping hasn't stopped on my behalf. I am still doing business as usual, answering questions, making observations, and offering advice when it's requested. Don't let one bad apple spoil your contributions. You're not getting away from us that easy, lol! If you think that this is something, wait until the 32 man tournament gets cranking. I think that this one is going to be a riot, because not only am I the linemaker, I will also be a firefighter of sorts. Already there have been a few line changes due to trash talk. Stick around for that one.
I will be taking on the winner in the NBA playoffs. I love to wager on post season games and bowl games, etc. I do my finest work then. I only lost two bowl games and 2 NFL playoff picks, I only lost 3 MLB playoff wagers as well winning all of the rest. Some lucky person is gonna get the heat torch applied to their scrotum region in the NBA playoffs.Comment -

#104hornets do seem like the obvious pick to me and to about 70% of the public too, even at -2
However, The Big question is WHY? Is did the line go to a PK. instead of the usual 2.5-3pts. Again according to SI the %%% say about 70% on NO. Which dos make sence, but the line move dosn't. Knowing, That $$$ Moves Lines, one has to think the bigger/industry $$$ is on MIN. right? Now, I Will Keep In Mind, This Year RLM smart$ whatever, hasn't done that well in the Pro's... but still something, to be aware of... BOLComment -
