Sando's All Sports (NBA, AFL, NRL)
I'm a semi-professional sports bettor who has been doing this for 15+ years.

I've had winning and losing seasons in the past, however over the last 2-3 years I have started to produce consistent profits placing positive EV wagers on sports I am knowledgeable in.

My main areas of expertise are NBA, Tennis, AFL, NRL.

I also occasionally wager on Rugby Union, Boxing and Netball.

For now this thread will be 90% NBA & Tennis picks and of course I will keep records so you can see how I am doing as we move forward.

Unit size will be 1-5 units.

I never place any wager without researching the selection first.

Pick analysis will be provided when time allows...

Note - I have just recently come off a very successful AFL season, an average NRL season (break even), an excellent ITM cup season (Rugby Union) and have been hot in tennis over the last month. Now seemed liked the perfect time to start sharing my picks.

    Let's get that money...

      Paris Masters 1000
      Big Indoor tournament
Round 1 starts in a few hours

      Marcos Baghdatis m/l @ +135 (v. Simon) 2 Units
      Marcos Baghdatis +2.5 games @ -110 2 Units

Odds are clearly wrong. Simon only favourite because tournament is in France and he has a higher rank.
Baghdatis coming off a nice indoor tournament in Stockholm where he was playing really well before an injury in the semi's against Tsonga. Simon has not played well in this tournament in the past despite being a Frenchy playing at home.

        Paris Masters 1000

        Alejandro Falla m/l +138 (v. Mayer) 2 Units

Mayer has lost last 2 matches on indoor hard as a strong favourite. He has been playing with a rib injury and it is showing in his results. Falla is playing well at the moment, with recent wins over Dolgopolov and Bellucci. Falla has come through qualifying with 2 wins over solid opponents and so already has a feel for the courts. Definite value at these odds.

the Falla pick is real good, it just looks like Mayer has lost a lot of form and might not have the motivation to finish this season strong while Falla continues to be consistent as hell

Baghdatis no good. Falla cashes in straight sets.

                    YTD 1-1 (-1.24 Units)

Should be putting out 1 to 3 picks daily over the next week or so of the Paris Masters 1000, however it is unlikely I will have any NBA picks during the first week of the season, as usually I like to see 1-2 games to get a feel of a team before I even start thinking about wagering. If anything really stands out I might play it for 1-2 units. I am lucky as I can watch games on league pass at work, however their is still so much work to do at the beginning of an NBA season with 30 teams to study...

                      Paris Masters 1000 (Indoor Hard)
                      Oct 30 2012 14:30 GMT
Sam Querry (v. Verdasco) -2 games (-110 Pinnacle) 3 Units

Querry v Verdasco, two similar players with big serves and heavy forehands, however Querry at 6'6" has a bigger serve and these days a more reliable forehand. Go back to 2009 and Verdasco had one of the best forehands in the game, but these days his playboy attitude (ala Mark Phillipousos) make him a nice fade on a regular basis. Just as importantly Querry is Mr. consistent these days, and IMO he is the #1 American player, (although giant Johnny Isner may be higher in the rankings).

-Querry's records against left handers is exceptional.
-Verdasco's mentally not in the right state of mind after his poor efforts in front of his adoring home friends, family and fans in Valencia.
-Faster surface favoring the better server, Querrey.
                      - H2H Querry leads 2-1
-October 1st 2012 in Beijing Querry defeats Verdasco 5-7 6-3 6-4 (Hard Court)

                        R.Vinci (v. Hantuchova) m/l (-175 @ Sportingbet) 2 Units

Vinci won a hard court tournament in August and has generally been playing solid tennis, apart from a recent hiccup as a shock first round loser in Beijing. The same cannot be said for Hantuchova's last 3 months.

*Notice Hantuchova has dropped down to International level (to regain confidence) last two tourney's and has still struggled...

PHM was particularly good in his last Indoor tournament (Basel), he played a great all court game against the GOAT (Federer) and he always plays well at home in France. No obvious weakness in PHM's game. More talent and higher motivation (Masters event, last of the year, loves playing at home).

                                    Ernests Gulbis 2-0 sets @ -166 (Sportingbet) - 2 Units v. Alexey Vatutin

Quick analysis - Gulbis is one of the most talented young tennis players going around. Un-fortunately he has a playboy attitude and hates to train. His opponent is a nobody ranked around 500 with 3 recorded matches to his pro career. Ernest's has shown some interest in this tournament by dispatching his first round opponent in easy straight sets. A fully motivated and fired up Gulbis wins this something like 6-2 6-1 (and that's being generous to his opponent)

Good luck mate. Just curious what do you like about Verdasco ATM? And are you taking the +2 or m/l?

Nice call on fading Hantuchova, hopefully the second set goes as smoothly as the first. Hantuchova has steadily declined the past couple of years, and seems to be sinking to a new low with each passing month.

Vinci is playing the best tennis of her life, going in the exact opposite direction this year. Huge mismatch based on current and recent form. The odds were tighter than they should have been perhaps because of the 2-2 h2h record and Hantuchova's past ranking/reputation.
