    Smith seems to lose his edge during the matches and stops giving 100% every throw.
    van Gerwen was a beast for awhile, not sure he is as good as he used to be. Too many beers? his increased headsize would say yes.

    Both have matured over recent times, Smith winning the 2022 Grand Slam and MVG seems to be back in beast mode. All ton+ averages in the run up to this match
