    travers saturday
    #4 sovereignty (2-5)
    #3 strategic focus (6-1)
out @ 7-1 ..extremely fractious in the gate and eased in the stretch ..he wasn't winning anyway

too much of a disparity in my opinion..think this horse is a real player and hopefully the blinkers help his bad start issues ..need the 2-bracket buster (20-1) to keep 1-magnitude (2-1) honest on the front end

    any thoughts welcome

Get em JBEX. Have not looked it over but a 5 horse field is not ideal for the Midsummer Derby.

AGREE WITH YOUR TAKE JBEX. Looked it over and the #3 has a number that is comparable to what Sovereignty has run. However, the #3 has limited experience compared to the #4. And like you stated the #2 needs to keep the #1 in check. Lean the #3 as well at that ML Price. GL.

he's lightly raced ,as you inferred, so cutting him a little slack for his last start..based on his pedigree, what he did in his 1st 2 starts and chad having the confidence to run him here makes me like him at what will probably be an overlay price

some advance plays for saturday's card..since i'm putting these up early I will come back on saturday morning with a "PLAY" next to each horse to confirm them..lot's of high ml choices so if you want to concentrate more on winning for the day might want to go elsewhere ..also the possibility of putting them underneath in verticals .. boldfacing post so easy to spot plays

                14 races ..1st post 11:10

R7 - 13 are stakes races with the exception of R8

                R13 is the travers

R10 grade 1 allen jerkens stakes..be rooting for #4 chancer mcpatrick who str and i have followed since his debut as a 2yo..my opinion neutral on him

weather supposed to be perfect so that shouldn't be an issue

                R1 #2 ambassador blue (5-1)
                out @ 4-1

                R4 #4 liberty rising (30-1) PLAY
                out @ 41-1

                R5 #4 marvelous madison (8-1) PLAY
                out @ 6-1

                R6 #2 paul's recovery (30-1) PLAY
                scratched

                R9 personal ensign stakes g1 (3:45)
                6 leslie's rose (9-2)
                3rd @ 3-1

                R12 forego stakes g1 (5:36)
                5 extra anejo (20-1)

After watching the Travers yesterday, I can call Sovereignty a Super Horse, a generational great.
I haven't followed the horse game closely in over ten years, but I've seen enough of Sovereignty to call him a Super Horse.

When Sovereignty got to the quarter pole yesterday, he pretty much said to the field, "I'm better than you guys, much, much, better."
                      And he is and was.

                      Good on Mr. Mott, too.
I've always been a fan of Mott.

kind of interesting since 2015 you have 2 triple crown winners and neither of them are as good as flightline.. I think sovereignty is in the justify, american pharoah range which is not bad company to keep..the former also turned out to be one of the best stallions in the world while AP a big disappointment

i agree about mott ..one of the all time greats and a first class person also .. nice to see

another interesting note is if you take this back to 2010 and include europe, frankel gets in there..I wouldn't be surprised at all if flightline and him wind-up being the 2 greatest horses of the 21st century .. frankel's fee is over $400k and flightline's first crop race's next year

Horse would have won the triple crown IMO. He is that good. Could have then skipped the Jim Dandy and won the Travers.

barring any bad luck probably would've won the preakness .. triple crown would've been a nice thing to have on his resume
