    Kentucky Derby Picks
I live here in Vegas and would like to think what other horseplayers like for the derby? To me it is one of the most wide open derbies in years.

I agree with this, am looking at training currently to see who I can get at a price. Down year overall, a lot because of injuries, who knows maybe we'll see a classic performance. I'll check back in later in the week. Best to all

Most likely winners IMO are Irish War Cry or Classic Empire. With it being as wide open as it is though I don't really want to lay prices that small. Any of the top 5-7 horses all seem semi interchangeable.

I took 3 longer shots (mostly based off of odds I found)

      Hence 28/1
      Thunder Snow 40/1
      IRap 60/1

Will Consider Mccraken at 10/1 or better & Tapwrit 20/1 if it turns to slop.

Keep an eye on the weather, as Ky is now supposed to get showers from Wed thru Sat.....this could really upset the race.

Irish War Cry, Tapwrit, Mccraken, and Hence seem like the best bets in rain.

If the place is a complete slop fest Tapwrit will be right at home.

On a serious note, I wouldnt want to drink alot and bet at the same time. An open bar would be good if you already had your bets in.

                  Bally's?
                  Free booze for horse betting?
                  I might be there.
                  Uber to and from home.
                  It might be fun-
Stations are usually riduculously packed and not worth the time.

My strategy might be to box long shot exactas. But, I might rescind and try to do something different after I look at the DRF.

It will be raining there on Friday for sure. They cover the track for sure right? Does it have to be raining when the race happens for it to be sloppy?

They don't cover the track. They do a thing called sealing it. Which is packing it down as tight as they can with a steam roller. It can be sloppy if it just stopped raining or else it's muddy.

Thanks I don't know a damn thing about horse racing but my local let me lock in Tapwrit at 20-1

My buddy said they run 8 or so races before the actual Derby and that if it rains on Saturday it will be pretty sloppy. He is at the OTB at least 3x a week.

They have track renovations and many methods, undercard means much much less than rainy days leading up as far as sloppy track, Grease

The sloppier it gets, the better it will be for Tapwrit. 20/1 is a good price.

I hear ya. That is what I am hoping. There are a couple other mudders in ther from what I was reading, so on Friday I will throw some exotic mudder bets in at the OTB. GL!

I have been on Classic Empire since his first race. I also want to support my Indian Brethren Rajiv Maragh on Irish War Cry.

I will Box five horses in the Derby for Tris and Supers. I will also have them in my P4's, P5's and P6's and all exoctics.
