pace compromised in his first race in the states (woodbine so say n. America) last year (grade 1) and his debut effort this year.. prior to those won a grade 2 in germany at this distance.. how good is german racing lol ?? in a race that is total confusion who's going to be on the lead maybe a few will decide to be aggressive and it'll be fair.. has to help to have last under himComment -

$525k 2yo auction purchase and definitely a bunch for the pedigree.. $25k stallion and lone starter from the dam won a little over $100k with 2 wins from 7 starts including winning her debut at the keeneland fall meet.. also worth noting #5 lucky dime (4-1) is a half to monster mitole and the dam has produced two other winners besides (3/3)..trained by mott whose having a great meet

$650k yearling purchase makes her debut going 2 turns on the turf.. dam won debut by 9 at arlington park.. pletcher with jose ortiz.. chad has two expensive fts (4,5) and kimmel also has one (3)..shug has a firster also with a nice pedigree (2) but not as good as the one's I just mentioned

missed by a neck and was coming in his first try stateside last race .. today only his 4th career start and cost $836k so hoping he might be something special.. jose ortiz aboard this time.. realize I said looking for something other than locals who ran well but the difference with this one is he did it in an allowance race and not a stakes like the other's
#7 cape of good hope (15-1)
aiden o'brien, big pedigree who ran fairly well vs solid European company.. only 16 day gap between his euro race two back and his debut in this country last out (kinda quick).. has had about a month to rest off that and should be a lot fresher and maybe more relaxed.. his worst race over there was the race 2 back and that was the only off turf (soft) he'd run on

this is one of those that even at $52k cost a decent amount for the pedigree.. by freshman sire whose a son of indian charlie out of a placed speightstown mare so excellent speed and turf pedigree.. englehart 12% debut turf but big roi so he's popped at least one big price.. solid (not spectacular) steady works coming up to this which is what I prefer.. like when they name a horse like this.. connotes positivity to meComment -
find it amazing on arlington park's biggest day of the year (which has 5 stakes races including the arlingtion million) that 5 of the 7 non-stakes races are for maidens.. really strange!!Comment -

if you exclude his last race (no apparent excuse) I think he has one of the most impressive resumes of anybody in here (speed figures, class).. of course the last race clouds his form and will make him a bit of a price.. other wildcard is the synthetic surface as he's never been over it.. this is the easiest spot he's been in quite a while.. working well and catalano willing to take a shot here

reasons on these 2 are tougher to explain.. lots of little things with both

besides the 2nd place finish in the slop last out like the fact she ran evenly in a wicked fast race at laurel in her debut... gets off the rail to a nice middle post and irad replaces rosario.. 2 nice works since last race.. with brad cox and michael maker having debut horses along with #10 whose run well on a few occasions this one still a little camouflaged

even at $47k this guy cost a decent amount relative to his pedigree.. it's speed/turf oriented and having wesley ward train one of these types always a good thing.. works are solid and spaced about a week apart going back to the end of june.. irad gets the mount

really feel this one's nicely set up... 3rd off long layoff, drop, stretch out surface switch.. showed talent last year before something obviously went wrong and put on the shelf for over a year.. his first race off the layoff (2 back) the winner put up a graded stakes level brisnet figure so his finishing position deceiving.. bred to like the surface

don't agree with ml at all and think she'll attract a lot more support than that.. like what she did here last year as a 2yo..monster pace figs in her best effort where she broke her maiden.. bad start, bad post and yielding tracks in her two starts since then.. reyes who rode her last year gets back on again
