first two races (4th career today) earned figures as good as any in this field.. they were in sprints though.. what elevates him up to interesting to me in spite of that is they were both at 7f..if one was a 7f a little interested.. both at 6f not interested at at all.. last race was the gotham and that was basically mid pack all the way around in a race that had a freaky fast pace.. encouraged that asmussen would try him here.. bred top and bottom for distance and his dam sire is deputy minister who was a class of 79..don't see his name much anymore but he's considered one of the top 5 damsires of the last 30-40 years..think he'll be aggressive with him today and gun for the lead (nothing to lose).. also track should be a mess today and that's another wildcard I don't mind at a price

both mine and the #1 by new nyb sire "central banker".. a son of speightstown who's gotten off to a nice start as a stallion.. this race was a msw for nyb.. #1 cost $110k and making his debut while mine cost $85k and making his 2nd career start..a good amount of money for a $7500 stallion and both had some production from the dam.. btw first start for mine was in july at saratoga as a 2yo and did little (turf sprint).. linda rice was 4-1 ml and wound up going off 9-1..mine wound up going off 2-1..rice using jose lezcano 8/19 last 60 days..englehart/alvarado (#2) 5/10 last 60 and a solid pair overall also ..if you were viewing up to the race you would say #1 was dead on the board and mine was the live one.. long story short #1 wired the field and won easy at 9-1 and I finished 2nd and no apparent excuses either..just goes to show so called "smart money" doesn't always get it right



should also be said that linda rice is one of the best trainers at aqueduct before the big boys come back and does pretty well after they get here also



didn't watch all the races leading up but the rail in sprints at aqueduct is terrible so that makes the win even better

only raced twice at saratoga in 2018 and have a hunch the 7f effort vs allowance (last year) was just a get fit race... then had the unfortunate circumstance of drawing the 14 post in the g1 woodward.. speed to the stretch call and faded while 3-4 wide both turns.. still only 14 career starts and her best work of 2017 puts him in the hunt.. johnny v comes to ride whose 12/35 for pletcher last 60 days and an amazing 22/62 riding in route races this year.. for todd to ship this horse here off an 8 month layoff has to be a good sign

slow start ran around the track back of the pack in his debut @ 5f last out in his debut.. like the fact he maintained his lengths behind pretty well which could be useful for trying the route today which she's bred top and bottom to do.. blinkers come off, prado jumps aboard and trainer 6/16 with an average win price of $22 first time in a route

first off trainer 0/40 this year and 6/195 going back to jan 2018..prior to that impressive stretch he was 0/144 (not making this up lol) jock triple bug but his lone win came in a route and he paid close to $70.. this gal's best effort came off a 28 day layoff (same today) at this distance 4 starts back.. that race could beat this field and she'll be toting a lot less weight with the 10lb bug.. has lots of reasonable excuses 5-10 back from bad posts to wrong surface, off track and catching a very fast race for the level

this race clm 8000 n1y (6 months).. wins in claimers vs lower tags don't count so she has two of those vs 5k same condition.. bad efforts were from bad posts.. seems the addition of blinkers combined with reasonable placement going back about 7 starts has worked for this horse.. jock/trainer 9/32 last 60 days

think the stretch and drop may set her up nice for this.. always like even back of the pack lines in these situations.. little route experience here but sprint form was excellent last fall and it's a top and bottom route pedigree

linda rice ships in from aqueduct with this fts.. slow works which is her modus operandi.. nice pedigree.. cost 90k by 15k sire out of a highly productive dam.. 10 starters 8 winners and 3 of those stakes winners.. 3 turf winners amongst those (5.5f turf today).. dam by premiership who's an extreme sprint influence
