Playing the day's biggest ML underdog on the PL

Hey guys, been following your post as a silent observer. I have a question that may seem dumb. When you say that you play hockey dogs of greater than 1.45, does that mean greater than +145 on the Money Line. I am fairly new to hockey betting so appreciate the help in understanding.

Neither.

There are several things going on here. In addition to the system which floridagolfer started and I picked up, which is the Big Dog NHL system, in which one plays the biggest moneyline dog on the puckline, our friend rkelly likes to play teams which are European Odds 1.45 or better (puckline odds) on both the puckline and the moneyline. Plus he's tweaking his NBA dog system, plus we've chatted about baseball and the NFL a couple of times. And I rant about Labouchere line money management as the mood moves me while rkelly experiments with Fibonacci and who knows what else.

So by my count that's 7 systems for 4 sports in 1 thread using two different kinds of odds and 3 or more money management styles.

If you're new to sports betting this may not a good place to learn.

Thanks bombc, not new to sports betting, been active for 15 years but this is the first year I started serious hockey betting. I use labbys in all other sports. I just was not sure what 1.45 stood for. Sounds like you are saying that is European odds. What is the best way to translate that into American odds? Appreciate the help. Won islanders ml and puckline tonight so great start to 2nd half!!

Btw, I have bet hockey before, playoffs, Stanley cup etc. So I understand pucklines, moneylines, etc. Just wondering how an American could look at odds and know which games fell into rkellys 1.45 system. Thanks again for your response.

Miami, go to the beginning of this thread to understand what the originator is trying
to do.

Sorry, there are two separate hockey systems going on at the same time, in here.

This thread is based on the biggest underdog, on the ML (money line), of the day.
We use that, as a guide, to place our bet on the +PL (puck line). Usually one bet a day.

My 1.45 system, is to look for, decimal odds, 1.45 and over on the +PL and only bet
on the +PL. Sometimes as many as 6 games a day.

I throw in a little Basketball on the side, also.

The NY Islanders were the biggest ML dog tonight and we bet the +PL and they won
SU (straight up), 4-1.

At 11am, there were 4 games that fit the 1.45 decimal odds system.
NY Islanders 1.60, Ottawa 1.45, Montreal 1.47 and Phoenix 1.47.

Depending on when you bet, those odds could change. These systems are self explanatory
and there's really no need to post picks. There's no capping, just look at the odds and
place your bets, real simple.

Sorry, a little slow. Your sports book should have somewhere on there, to change
to decimal or Euro odds. You can check SBR's odds also and change to Euro odds.

I've never used American odds, because decimal is easier to figure out, math wise
and gives you the true odds of the game.

Perfect, this is exactly what I was confused about. I had never heard of decimal/European odds until this post. Seems crazy to me cause I have been wagering on sports for over 15 years.

The few instances of back to back games are mixed... some winners, some losers, not enough of either to include or exclude. It's something to keep an eye on, but for now, no change.

youre taking two numbers off your line but since you won the nash bet with the 1.45 system you also had dallas as well right? which lost. so youre adding your dallas loss back on to your line?

edit: after checking the opening odds dallas was 1.42, so you didnt take them after all. so going with the opening odds and ignoring line movement seems to be the best way for playing the 1.45 system?

Yes indeedy, Nashville covered. Listened to 2nd and 3d period on the radio, an exciting game. Some radio guys do a fabulous job.

Things are moving around a little bit, so for right now my plan is CBJ and EDM as co-Big Dogs of the NHL. Half wager on each. I would normally wait for things to clear up a little, but I'm going to take a couple of days off. Back soon, good luck team!

Oklahoma, I only have the big dog PL for my lab lines. The 1.45 system is flat betting only.

I didn't take Dallas, because at 11am it wasn't a play. Dallas was at 1.4 and jumped 5
before game time. Good indicator they were going to lose. If the line dropped, they
would probably win.

OK BC, enjoy your time off and enjoy the super bowl. GL with whoever you wager on.

I don't know who I like. I'm from PA and should take Pittsburg, but GB has literally
kicked every teams ass, on their home turf, to get to the big game. If anything I will
take GB on the ML. It will be a tight game if nothing weird happens like interceptions
or kick returns.

I want to share an NHL ML Dog system, I've been tracking, that hit 59% last month
for +18.64 units. These bets are ML only flat bets using the minimum bet you can
make at your book. These are games that were capped, not just looking at odds.

These will be for tracking only for now. If you bet these, good luck.

Edmonton was a winner, but Dallas came in as a tie to Edmonton. So, if you split
them it was 1 of 2. Those were both 1.45 plays also.

My NHL doggies aren't doing so hot. Good thing we're just tracking.

ML dog system is New Jersey @ 2.25 and St. Louis @ 2.40

NBA big dog is LA Clippers +11.5 @ 8.00 2-1 67%. I would recommend buying more points.

took a quick look and it doesnt look like any pl's will be over 1.45. slow hockey game tomorrow

but i can see the pacers putting up a fight against miami.
