    Oilers vs Golden Knights Predictions
The Edmonton Oilers take on the Vegas Golden Knights in the Western Conference Semi-Finals.

Series Odds via DraftKings: Oilers -120 / Golden Knights +100

This has the makings of a 6 or 7 game series. Who comes out on top, Edmonton or Vegas? Post your predictions in this thread.

Oilers vs Golden Knights Game 1 player prop picks from SBR's Connor Cooper:

Jack Eichel Over 0.5 power-play points (+145 FanDuel)

"After being held off the scoresheet in the first three games of Round 1, Eichel racked up five points in the final three games. He also led the Knights with 7.2 shot attempts per game in the series and averaged three shots per game.

Some of Eichel’s increased production was due to Golden Knights coach Bruce Cassidy’s decision midway through the series to move William Karlsson onto the Knights’ top line with Eichel and Mark Stone.

With the possibility that Cassidy will break the trio up again to gain more balance against Edmonton (and the fact that Eichel’s Over 0.5 points is a pricey -230 at DraftKings), I’ll back him to record a power-play point at plus money.

More than one-third of Eichel’s points this season came while Vegas was on the man advantage. Meanwhile, the Oilers allowed eight power-play goals to the Los Angeles Kings last round, allowing the Kings to convert at a 40% clip."

Brandon Saad anytime goal (+475 DraftKings)

"Saad is coming off his lowest-scoring season since his sophomore campaign in 2013, producing just 13 goals in 72 games for Vegas and the St. Louis Blues. However, the seven-time 20-goal scorer has had more than his share of chances so far this postseason, topping the team in expected goals in Round 1 vs Minnesota.

Despite having nine unblocked shot attempts in high and medium-danger areas versus the Wild, Saad managed just two assists.

The analytics suggest a goal is coming soon, so I’ll try to be ahead of the curve in what could be a wide-open Game 1."

    Evander Kane Over 2.5 shots (+128 bet365)

"Kane was among the 11 Oilers to record at least three points in Round 1 against the Kings, contributing two goals and an assist. He also led Edmonton in shots on goal per 60 minutes and had eight unblocked shot attempts from high or medium-danger areas.

Since recording one shot on net in Game 2 — Kane’s first action of the entire year, following multiple surgeries — he’s had at least four shots on target in three of four outings.

I’ll back him to hit the net at least three times tonight at a favorable +128 price at bet365, but Kane Over 0.5 goals (+330 at FanDuel) and Over 0.5 points (+158 at FanDuel) are also solid options at longer odds."

Oilers vs Golden Knights Game 2 player prop picks from SBR's Connor Cooper:

Connor McDavid Over 0.5 Goals (+160 via FanDuel)

"It’s not often that you can say McDavid is overdue to produce, but that’s the case with the Oilers superstar - at least when it comes to potting goals. Although he ranks second in the playoff scoring race with 13 points, McDavid has been held without a marker in four straight games and 10 of 12 going back to the regular season.

It’s not as if McDavid isn’t getting chances. He’s attempted nearly seven shots per game in the playoffs, leads the Oilers in expected goals in the postseason, and has recorded at least four shots on net in four of his last five outings.

McDavid’s shooting percentage in the playoffs sits at 7.4%, nearly half his career percentage of 14.1. At FanDuel’s +160 odds, I’ll back those numbers to improve tonight in Game 2."

Tomas Hertl Under 0.5 Points (+122 via FanDuel)

Vegas lost more than its top goal scorer when Pavel Dorofeyev suffered an undisclosed injury in Round 1 against Minnesota. Hertl has looked lost without his linemate since Dorofeyev went down, attempting just five shots in the last two games after firing 28 in the first five games of the postseason.

Hertl has now been held pointless in four of Vegas’ last five games, and he hasn’t had a high-danger shot attempt in seven straight. With Dorofeyev unlikely to return tonight after not practicing on Wednesday, let’s bank on Hertl’s struggles continuing in Game 2 at plus money."

Connor Brown Over 0.5 Goals (+600 via bet365)

"Edmonton’s secondary scoring has been a huge story in these playoffs, and Connor Brown might be the depth forward who has stepped up his production the most. His insurance marker in Game 1 was his fourth goal in the Oilers’ last five games, a span during which he’s added two assists and generated 2.3 expected goals.

Brown has been rewarded with more ice time, playing at least 16 minutes in three of Edmonton’s last four games - a significant increase from the 14 minutes he averaged during the regular season. He’s also shooting more, attempting at least three shots in seven straight games, and hitting the net in five of his last six."

Oilers vs Golden Knights Game 5 player prop picks from SBR's Connor Cooper:

                Evander Kane Over 0.5 Points (+120 bet365)

"Kane’s stellar playoffs continued in Game 4 with a two-point performance, including his fourth goal in eight games. He was also on the ice for all three of Edmonton’s goals, drawing an assist on Adam Henrique’s second tally of the first period.

After Kane, Henrique, and Connor Brown showed instant chemistry when they teamed together, we should expect Edmonton head coach Kris Knoblauch to roll with that same line combination in Game 5.

Each of the three ranks among Edmonton’s top six in expected goals during these playoffs, so Kane should have plenty of opportunities to crack the scoresheet once again."

Tomas Hertl Under 0.5 Points (-118 FanDuel)

"Hertl started the playoffs with three goals and five points in his first four games, but he’s gone pointless in six games since. His shot attempts are also down dramatically, leading to speculation that the veteran forward is playing through an injury.

With the Golden Knights struggling to generate offense at home (two regulation-time goals or less in three of their five home games in these playoffs), don’t expect Hertl to snap out of his funk tonight."

Victor Olofsson Over 1.5 Shots (+100 Caesars)

"Before the return of Pavel Dorofeyev in Game 3, Olofsson was on the Golden Knights’ top power-play unit and potted a pair of goals in Game 2.

The Knights have gone 0-for-5 with the man advantage since then, and Vegas head coach Bruce Cassidy moved Olofsson back to the first power-play group midway through Game 4.

Cassidy could look to make a similar switch tonight. Oloffson has also been a high-volume shooter in these playoffs at home, averaging nearly seven attempts per game in four outings at T-Mobile Arena."
