how to beat a 50/50 play vs someone else

My english is not so good but will try to explain it....

Every human see system in everything...example:
after you flipp heads 10 times will most people take tails....
They will see the system that it will after x heads it will be tails...the human brain always looking for some system..so it can filter out non-importent situation...

But how can you beat it?

Your opponent guess...and he will use some system (or his "brain" will find one)
You will not guess the result...you flipp another coin and let it decide for you...and then will you hit 50%...
And your opponent will never come up in that numbers because his "brain" will find some system that doesn't exist

Question?...If any will I try to explain better with my bad english....

    regards
    mikke

The correct answer is to give your opponent less than fair odds. If you are giving even odds on a coin flip, you won't "win" no matter how invalid your opponent's system is.

    yes..you will have 1/3 1/3 and 1/3

your opponent will not have that chanse...because he will "automatic" use some "system"

about the 50/50.....I'm not correct with what I was writing....
There you must have a criteria...you only bet against each other when you want...then you will beat his system..or atleast you will not lose....(yuo will braek even if he have randomes in his choise...but he will not have totaly randomness..when he choise by himself)

But the conclusion are that randomes always beat system....if the result is randomes..(flipp coin, and similiar games)

Nothing is 100% when gamble...but your EV will be +-0...but when your opponent choise another "system" he will get EV - (but not when he also use randomness..or one side all the time)...but you will never go under EV+-0

So he have no chance to win (in the long run)

    My head hurts.

Flipping a coin is 50.50 with fair coins, no matter what.

Rock paper scissors you can improve to break even by randomly selecting your pick. The only way to do better than 33/33/33 is to learn your opponents patterns.

Lol this is one hilariously bad misapplication of:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_theory

Doesn't matter if you're flipping coins or playing roshambo, when utilizing game theory you will NEVER go above 50% or 1/3, hence your opponent will NEVER be -EV

But Vanessa Rousso uses game theory and she's (almost) the winningest woman player in the world? *confused face*

The poster has the right idea, he didn't express his point very well. He is saying that when someone plays the game they will have a bias (maybe subconscious) in their choices. Flip a coin 1000 times and they will call, maybe 400 heads and 600 tails because their subconscious prefers tails. Maybe they will always call heads after three tails in a row. Maybe they think they are a tough guy and so call 400 rock and 300 for the other two choices. They may not even be aware of their bias. Using the brain to make the choices will always introduce some sort of bias.

He will use some outside method of randomizing his choices and will win against the other players nonrandom play.

And unless you can control what the coin comes up it doesn't matter what they call.
