Just don't like the race segments concept much. But they do say the final segment will be at least 50% of the race distance so that's cool. Can tune in after 2 hours and still see an entire proper race.

They're trying to expand their audience to acquire those with short attention spans. All I hear from friends and family that aren't in to nascar is "How do you watch them go in circles for 4 hours"? or that the first 95% of the race is too boring. Now its 3 or 4 races in one.

Crazy to think that Danica makes over 6million a year just in salary/winnings (winnings lol). She makes around the same just for her endorsements alone, which is only eclipsed by Dale jr of course. Combining both she is ranked around 6-7 overall of all drivers last time I looked.

With all those endorsement deals she can't even find sponsorship but for a few races! Looks like SHR is her sponsor this year. Ouch

I think the new NASCAR rules have no impact on the contest rules at FOX. Anyhow, NASCAR races now have 3 segments. The first segment is roughly 25% of the race and the top 10 leaders at the end of the segment get points (10 for 1st, 9 for 2nd, 8 for 3rd, etc...). Then the second segment is also roughly 25% of the race with that same point distribution to the top 10 leaders. Then the last 50% or so determines the actual race finish with the winner getting 40 points. Thus, if the same driver wins all 3 segments, he earns 60 points.

The last rule change that I read will effect the outcome way more than the segment points. " Teams will no longer be able to change any body parts during the race." Meaning u fuk up your car u will have to park it not fix it.
