The O's have struck out on other free agents to this point, whether by simply getting outbid or by the players failing to pass the team's extensive physicals. However, it appears they've finally caught a big fish. Question mark for me. Not thrilled with the signing especially having to pitch against the AL East. Pitched very well down the stretch and has incorporated his slider more often. The 2 seasons before last were pretty bad though. Eh we'll see how this works out.Comment -

And Jimenez was one of the best pitchers in the American League over the second half of the season last year, whatever it was that was bothering him, he figured things out and again looked like the pitcher that almost won a Cy Young while pitching in Colorado. And the Orioles would not pay 48 million for a guy and give up a first round draft pick if they were not getting an ace.
Baltimore has a bunch of good pitchers and young too, which is always good, but not one of them could be considered a go-to ace type. Jimenez could be that guy, not to mention adding some veteran leadership.Comment -
