West Virginia/USF - What's your angle?

Only angle i can really think i can depend on is WV wins they go to the BCS champ. USF just plays spoiler. otherwise, like you said the big east is pretty wacky.

BJ daniels is doubtful for tonight. USF has played some teams tough, and biggest win came off ND, since then its been downhill for them. I played 2* on WV.

Sadly, yes. They would be assured no worse than a 3-way tie with Cincinnati and Louisville. WVU lost to Louisville but beat Cincinnati who beat Louisville, so the next tiebreaker is BCS ranking, WVU is 23rd and the other 2 aren't ranked. So a WVU win puts them in a BCS bowl

WV has lost 3 of 4 at SF, but that wasn't Dana Holgorsen. Dana was Off Coord for years under Mike Leach and is a fckn mastermind compared to Bill Stewart. USF is only Div 1 school with Prop 48, so they can take sub 2.0 gpa athletes. All there talent is excellent but half the team can barely read. My lean is WV by 3. This line is a Vegas scare tactic. Taking USF would be a hedge for WV conference futures at best. Low volume betting on this game with NFL Thursday so I figure WV is a gift for Xmas. BJ Daniels is a legit run threat, the back up is Handicapped. WV is the play

I was completely surprised WVU opened at -1 on Diamond. -1?? USF is good at run defense BUT they are screwed on CB's. First and second string is hurt, they have nobody playing back there tonight and that means the passing game for WVU will be lighting it up in Raymond James tonight. WVU is a "bet the mortgage" type of play tonight.

And by the way, I live in Tampa and support USF. I'll be going to the game tonight with sweet tickets behind the USF bench. Hate to say that USF is going to lose but in the world of wagering business is business.

Plus, factor in that West Virginia will be playing 11 vs 17 tonight. The officials will be heavily on USF's side, since the Big East will enjoy nothing more than sending anyone BUT West Virginia to the BCS since they are leaving.

Since nobody else got it right, there are 3 teams that can get the BCS bid for the BE. These are the scenarios.

WVU: WIN and CINCINNATI WIN
CIN: WIN and WVU LOSS
LVILLE: CIN LOSS

This game is not just a spoiler for USF. It's a primetime game for a HC that could be on the hot seat. He wins this one, they make a bowl game. The have PLENTY of incentive to win. WVU is a sucker bet tonight.

The spread is simply to offset the 3xposur3 of Cinci +900 bcs and +3000 Louisville ......that way bookies can get a little back from WV +200 backers

It doesn't matter who makes the BCS bowl for the Big East(they're guaranteed one no matter the rankings of the teams), however it does matter to the conference how many teams make a bowl game.

More teams go bowling means more money for the conference. USF needs a win to get it in & I believe the conference officials will make it happen.
