there's a lot of reasons to love OSU in this one


1)Texas defense is overrated compared to last year, they have not been able to generate much pass rush and their secondary was shredded by OU. Okst is not as big of a name as OU but their offense is EVERY bit as good as the Sooners. If OU can generate 55 points against UT, OSU should be able to get at least 35-40


2)OSU is a phenomenal road team - undefeated ATS heading back to last season, this team looks great on the road


3)OSU has a very underrated defense...they give up a lot of points because they're generally up about 30 points in every game. Tulsa (a good offensive team) only had 6 points in the first half against OSU before they scored a bunch in garbage time, Arizona only scored 14 the whole game and Texas AnM (a team that averages around 40 points per game) scored 29 at home against OSU


I don't see texas scoring anymore than 24-31 points and OSU should be able to get into the 40s as they seemingly almost always do. My guess is that OSU will be up 35-10 in the 2nd half, texas will get a couple TDs to make it seem close before losing 42 - 24

this matchup will be close in a couple years, but Texas doesn't have the experience to play it close against a legitimate top 5 top 10 team in OKST (which has a GREAT ATS record last 2 seasons because people keep underrating them)

i am here in oklahoma and you should here everyone on the sports radio alll the former osu players and the whole town of stillwater is fired up for this game..this is a chance for OSU too show everyone they are BCS top 5 worthy they haven't been in this good of positon in a while i know they came on strong last season, this game will show alot...If they show up ready too play they should have no problem winning this game by 21-24 points...If they let the game and situation and start reading the papers then texas could hang around...I like the ML here just too play it safe....Huge OU fan and just saw OSU too may times be a team on the rise only too fall...BOOMER ******* SOONER.

OSU is still massively underrated by the public


that's why this line is so low, it's also why oklahoma state has covered around 70% of their spreads last 2 seasons

I have watched Texas play a lot this year. They aren't very good.

I've watched Oklahoma State play a lot this year. They are good.

Texas has two freshman QBs that are like deer in headlights. Their offensive line isn't good. They have no playmakers at WR, Shipley "will" be good in the future but he isn't there yet. Finally, their RB's are average.

Their d-line is solid and their linebackers are decent. Their secondary sucks.

Much like OU, I expect Weeden and OSU to light them up. Likewise, that gimicky shit Texas runs on offense only works against crap teams that lack speed. I didn't see any of those wildcat plays or sweeps out of shotgun work against OU. In fact, they lost about 80 yards on that trash. Reason being, top 10 teams can run laterally. You may be able to just out run Rice or Iowa State the corner but that won't work against good opposition.

Texas didn't face any decent passing teams early on. Iowa State, UCLA, Rice, ect. Come on, give me a break. None of those teams can really throw the ball.

The reason Texas was successful early on was because they run a trash defense and blitz everyone. It's effective against crap teams that can't win one on one matchups because it forces turnovers but against good teams they are going to get torched.

Watch Weeden pick them apart tomorrow. I see like a 38-21 type game.

It's shocking how badly Texas has evaluated their recruits in recent years. These guys are overrated. I don't care what Mack Brown's record is after the OU/Texas game, Texas has never sucked to this level before and I doubt they have played any top 5 teams the week following the OU/Texas game either.

It was quite funny how many people actually thought they would cover and possibly win last week. They are about a 7-5 type of team. OSU is about a 11-1 or 10-2 type team.

I look at this matchup and this is one I tend to stay away from. Not sure if anyone's paid attention, but OU scoring 55 on Texas last week in the Cotton Bowl (I was there!) is a bit of a misleading stat if you consider that 4 of those scores were either directly or indirectly attributed to turnovers. Take those away and OU only scores into the 30s. Granted Texas didn't score an offensive touchdown until garbage time...however OSU's defense is considerably worse that OU's is. If UT can find a way to run the ball consistently and minimize those mistakes, Texas will have a shot at covering +7. Still a stretch though...
