I agree with you my friend. USC is way over rated. Look at the tape on how they performed at Arizona State a few weeks ago. USC is a garbage team. The line is way off. Cal should be laying 3.5! This is a typical veags trap ! Go Cal. Also put a little on Air Force -6.5 That is a strong play for me tonight!

USC is playing for affluent alumni from nor-cal on a neutral field, a national television audience in HD, respect, recogntion, and kiffin's exorbitantly overblown ego that demands validation on the big stage. cheers!

I guess I will be the one guy that goes against "conventional wisdom"....

Here's why:

USC -3 Over California

I will be laying my money on it. USC has far more advantages going into this game than Cal. They have superior athletic ability, a far superior QB, history is on their side, and I even give them a slight edge when comparing the defenses. The only edge I give Cal is their coach. Okay so here are the categories:

1) Athletic ability: USC pulls down more 5 star prospects than just about any team in the country. Having watched both of these teams multiple times this year I can safely give the edge here to USC. They are faster, stronger, and bigger than Cal. This should come in to play several times throughout the night.

2) QBs: this one isn't even close. Barkley is 10th in the nation in QB rating. He completes 70.7% of his passes to 54% for Maynard. He also has 2 years of experience under his belt and has won twice at AT&T field. Also, Cal's D let COLORADO go for 474 yards through the air against them. I think Barkley will have a lot of success.

3) USC is 9-1 SU in their last 10 vs Cal and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 vs Cal. They are also 10-2 ATS as a road favorite between 3-10 and 21-8 ATS coming off of a bye week. Last year they dominated Cal 48-14 as a -2 point favorite. Loving these trends.

4) Cal gave up 474 passing yards to Colorado... 'nuff said? No. USC's defense has been struggling and this is why most people are leaning towards the over here. This category is at best a toss-up, but I give USC a slight lean here.

All being said I feel very comfortable giving 3 points in this spot.

After watching both teams for nearly 2 years I know my stuff. There is no need for me to sit here and blurt out statistics of CAL ATS.
