Since Utah is at home and Pitt had to travel that far for a game. East coast teams going into the west coast sure could give them players jet lag. That is probably why that they are favored.

i like pitt's defense in this game especially their D-line. Even though utah's O-line has more experience i believe lewis will more than make up for it

i've already locked in my pitt teasers before this was posted. pitt +9 or more is an absolute lock to start the season. straight up little iffy but will cover teaser line with ease. haven't even selected teams to tease with them but will have 200.00 of open teasers to fill after that thurs. nite lock

The under seems to be the way to go in this one. Pitt's D is stout and their offense is very one-dimensional.

unranked team favored over ranked team, I think that says a lot right there. Seems like everybody is pounding pitt and line is steady. Utah home dominance and Pitt's coach isn't too reliable.

Long time reader, first time poster.

I think Utah is favored simply because this game is being played in Salt Lake, where we know how deadly the Utes are. 17-1 the last 3 years and 16 straight like the poster above mentioned. Also while Pitt is a very talented team with a lot of touted kids, they are still very inexperienced and at critical positions in this game such as QB, WR, and DLINE.

Should be a great game to watch. I think the Utes pull it out and keep the streak intact, but if they let Lewis and Graham run all over them similar to what happened against other good rushing opponents in '09, Pitt cand definitely win this game.

Ranked teams have fared extremely well against the point spread over the years when made an underdog. Since 1985, ranked teams are 737-419-18 (63.8%) against the spread when made an underdog. The short-term trends are pretty solid, as well. Over the past five seasons, ranked underdogs are 175-91-4 (65.8%) against the spread, although they number dipped slightly to 43-29-1 (59.7%) over the last two years, which is still an excellent winning percentage.
