UNLV fires HC Marcus Arroyo after 3 seasons

UNLV has fired coach Marcus Arroyo, a source told ESPN's Pete Thamel on Monday. The Rebels finished 5-7 this season, Arroyo's third as the school's head coach, after starting the season 4-1. UNLV defeated rival Nevada 27-22 on Saturday to snap a six-game losing streak.
The five wins represent the most UNLV has had in a season since 2017 when it also finished 5-7. UNLV's last season with a winning record came in 2013 when it finished 7-6.
Arroyo was 7-23 overall in his three seasons as the school's coach.

Dumb firing. Arroyo had them playing tougher than I’ve seen in a long long time. The games were semi fun and competitive. His first year was 2020 which is a throw away. I donate money to these fukks to support the program because they need it. Won’t be sending my check after this. I already lit up the AD but he doesn’t give a damn.

Who the hell are they going to get?

Does anyone even pay attention to UNLV football?

They overprice their tickets since moving to Allegiant stadium

Tickets still reasonable. They really try to do anything they can to get people in there. All lower level and a good way to see the stadium without all the chaos of the Raiders. That said- about 20k a game attend.

With Fickell and Rhule both off the board, pretty lean pickings

This much I do know about UNLV.
Their hotel management program is highly rated, same goes for their culinary arts program.

I've read UNLV has a very good nursing school, business, and civil engineering programs.
As far as state schools go, UNLV isn't Cal Berkeley or Rutgers, but from what I hear it's not totally a horseshit school either.

I imagine it's a top rated party school, that's got to count for something, no?

Bishop Gorman a top 5 program nationally pretty much every year, unfortunately their best players go elsewhere and only the borderline guys stay in state.

Last season I was going to go to a game but the cheapest ticket was $45. I had my 3 boys with me so no way was I paying $200 to see pee wee football

Its not bad if you’re buying 1 ticket just to see the stadium though

I pay $20 a seat lower level corner… $600 for season tickets 4 seats. I don’t buy day of or StubHub. Different deal depending on where you want to be and I’m sure they overcharge in certain sections.

Not quite the same splash Ed Orgeron would’ve made.
