Some of you may remember me from posting NCAAB picks last year. Gonna get back to posting for football. Been a while. Started off well yesterday and hoped my picks would help some people.

Tonight we have:

Tonights pick:

Miami v. Louisville OVER 54.5

Petrino's offense can succeed almost anywhere. They'll run a huge variety of formations and sets that make them really hard to prepare for. I think he will add some wrinkles, and on the first game of the year, that makes them even tougher to prepare for. Doesn't matter to me that Parker is out - they have plenty of guys who can make plays on the outside (De La Cruz comes to mind). Miami's defense was also sub-par last year. I don't see their improvement starting during the first game of the year on the road.

Louisville returns 4 starters on defense and I also think Miami will get their share of scoring done.

Kind of a bad beat with that missed touchdown from Louisville. What Lou Holtz said at half was right - ref should not have blown that dead. Oh well. Over is still alive.

Okay guys, picks for this week are below. A few too many favorites for my liking, but I think I have some pretty good leads here.

Nebraska -7
Mississippi St. +10
South Carolina -22

East Carolina -2.5
Purdue -5.5

I like what I have seen so far out of Nebraska and their run game. Armstrong and Abdullah are legit. From what I've seen of Miami, that young QB Kaaya isn't much to write home about. He seems to get rattled and I see this being a fairly easy cover with the Blackshirts at home in front of their fans.

I like Mississippi St. a lot this year. They probably won't win this game, but it will be close. I see something like 28-21 or 20-17 LSU here. LSU can typically put up some more points at home in front of their fans and always seem to shove it down opposing teams' mouths in Death Valley with their run game. This will run clock, but the Dogs are not slouches on either side of the ball. I really think this will be close and points could be at an even higher premium than previously mentioned. I also think that UAB win for Miss. St. was a little closer than Dan Mullen wanted it to be - might have been a good wake up call.

South Carolina might win by 50 this week. Vandy is so bad.

I like the 'Cuse chances at home in front of their fans in a game against a former ACC team. They have a Sr. QB, RB and 15 returning starters from last year's team that beat Maryland 20-3 on the road. I think they can take care of business again.

I'm gonna ride the ECU train. Shane Carden actually went to high school right by where I grew up. I played against him in football 3 consecutive years. He's a good player, ECU is coming home confident in front of their home fans and should be able to take care of business. -2.5 is too low here with how good Carden is. They can put up some points. I also have not been impressed with UNC at all this year.

I was impressed watching Purdue last week against Notre Dame. They showed some fight in the first half. I think the perfect formula to getting back on track is a cupcake game (sure, they're a 3-0 cupcake, but against other cupcakes). I think they should be able to win by at least a touchdown.

I think after we (WVU) humilated them last week at there home stadium, they want revenge. I'm sure that had to be one frustration game for them to say the least.

Hopefully Syracuse will get it turned around.

Guys I don't know what it is, but I don't think Mariota has it in him tonight. That offensive line isn't playing together right now. I'm on Washington St. +10.5 2H. Just a gut feeling from watching the game.

Am thinking I'll either take a week off or start gearing up for college basketball season which is my strongest sport.
