    Best Preview Book?
Banked on getting the Blue Ribbon preview because it has in depth previews for all the teams (pages of info for each team) but they aren't producing one this year. Any suggestions?

After being chastised by SBR mods for posting a good college football source a few weeks ago who doesn't promote or sell picks...I'm a little cautious when mentioning any good college football resourses for the forum.

The best of the best is as Mr. S posted. None better for detailed information. Steele is a football guy..period.

Each team gets 2 pages of material, with individual player stats and brief writeup, a breakdown of offense/defense for each game from last year, a breakdown of each off/def unit (linebackers, QB, OL, etc), # of players returning on off/def, scores/spreads from the last 5 years as well as ATS/SU records for the last 10 years, 10 years of coaching history plus coach lifetime stats, and a few other details. Teams are also ranked within conferences and overall by a variety of metrics and there are a few other articles on various topics.

          Plus it's dirt cheap...

Steele is probably the best out there. Blue Ribbon really started having problems several years ago. The important thig is to remember to use these mags for information, and disregard their predictions and projections.

This is an important addition. He tends to include too many teams in these lists so he can always claim success stories out of them while ignoring the dismal misfires.

When looking for more in-depth analysis, my favourite resource for college and pro football is Football Outsiders. The articles written by Ben Muth and Aaron Schatz are gold, and the statistics they offer are exceptional. Like every other site, they have a premium content section (I've never looked at it), but it's their free stuff that really makes them a great resource for every fan that wants to look a little more in-depth.

Steele's magazine is the best, and it isn't even close.

Have been purchasing the Phil Steele magazine since 04.... really great insight... and his rankings are based off of where he thinks teams are going to finish not there preseason rank which I like a lot.... cant wait for the release this year.... hes posting his top 40 online and it seems like he may even usc in his top 12 and one other mystery team http://philsteele.com/miscpages/2013Top40Countdown.html
