Texas Tech is coming off a bad loss. WVU is coming off a big win. Everyone loves WVU but not so fast.....

WVU's defense is horrible and a rebuilding Baylor team hung 63 on them in Morgantown. How many is Tech going to score at home in Lubbock?

I love this spot for Tech. WVU has to be feeling great about themselves after a big road win. They probably assume they can just show up and win this one easily after Tech got thrashed last week by OU.

For a Team that has given up 108 points in the past two games, won by 7 and won by 3, they sure are getting a ton of love going on the road this week.

This line probably looks easy to most of you. There is reason why its not.

Texas Tech +5 but I'm going to wait until people bet this up to see if I can get a better number.

Texas Tech has a better defense than WVU.

Texas Tech can score a lot of points. They're probably licking their chops waiting for that WVU defense while WVU is still celebrating being in the top 5.

You can't give up 50 a game and continue to win. It will catch up to WVU.

WVU's D is average but they've played some great offenses - they've faced 2 of the top 6 scoring offenses in the country (Baylor and Texas), 2 of the top 5 offenses in yards per game (Baylor and Marshall), and 3 of the top 10 QB's in the country (Cato, Ash, and Florence).

On the flip side of that, notice that TT's Sagarin SOS is 93rd. Look at the FBS teams they've faced and their offensive rank: Texas State has the 103rd ranked offense, New Mexico has the 110th, Iowa State has the 92nd, and Oklahoma has the 28th. If WVU faced those offenses, our D would look a hell of a lot better.

        It's all in context.

Also, WVU won't be feeling the effects of travelling, as they never left Texas. They're staying there for the week to prep for TT, according to the WV Rivals board. Turned out to just be a rumor. Nothing to see here.

Take it for what it's worth though. I'm a WVU fan, so I keep a close eye on them - I try not to bet on my own temas but I may have to take this one.

And one reason why WVU's opponents have high offensive rankings is the fact that they got to play against WVU's defense. By the same token, the poor offensive numbers for Tech's opponents result partly from the fact that Tech's D shut them down. Teams have only played 4 to 6 games at this point, so one game can make a big difference in their rankings.

The line has moved to 3.5 at some books I think this is headed into "trap game" territory.

                    7-0 Tech two minutes in.

WVU defense sucks. They gave up over 40 to this Texas team that didn't score a point on offense today.

                      14-0.

Now we'll see how WVU does playing catch up.

The thing is, when playing against WVU, a 14-0 lead isn't enough to feel secure. This game will likely be a shootout, not a smackdown, regardless of who wins it.

Of course. I totally expect WVU to score a lot of points themselves.

                            Texas/Baylor/WVU offenses overrated?

Can't seem to score on legit defenses.

                            Take TCU/Baylor under

Yep. The Texas offense scored two TDS today and that was against OU's backups. My Sooners don't even have a good defense by OU standards this year.
