So I'm gonna be attending UFC on Fox 4 and I have a 12 hour layover in Vegas so figure I gotta make some plays while I'm there

Last time I was there and bet at Caesars but was not very pleased with their selection..anyone have any advice on a good book to bet some UFC?

JC, as the poster of that last UFC 148 thread I can tell you about my experience in Vegas. I wanted to bet Anderson Silva to win inside the distance and could not find that prop anywhere. The only prop I found was at the Palazzo. However, it was exact results i.e., Silva by KO/TKO, Silva by sub, Silva by decision. The Palazzo's betting windows were all closed outside Lagasse's stadium while the main card was happening. There was a viewing party inside Lagasse's but it was full and they were not letting anyone inside. I do not know if they take bets inside.

LVH had the best line on Silva that I saw (Silva -250) however zero props. I ended up running all over the strip after the Palazzo and had to bet Silva -295 @ the Wynn. The Wynn will take large bets, but their lines were bad and no props. FWIW the sharpest lines are always going to be online. If you have an eye on a dog or a lesser known fighter you may find value in Vegas. I was at the Bellagio sports book when BJ fought Diaz and within an hour of the fight Penn went from a -120 fav to a dog fast.

As I mentioned in that thread, I was at the MGM for the Dos Santos/Mir fight and MGM did not allow parlays with Dos Santos and the Glover Texiera fight was not even up on the board to bet. If you want to line shop and see what's available give yourself plenty of time to find the best option.

MGM does parlays. I was able to parlay Dos santos at mgm at ufc 146..

and i meant mandalay bay, not bellagio. this was back in 2009, but mandalay did allow parlays.

MGM allows parlays, they blocked some of the fighters from being used in parlays. Guy in front of me tried to throw A fighter in a parlay (was pretty sure it was Dos Santos, maybe Velasquez), and they said the bet # was not allowed in parlays.

I thought you meant he wasn't allowed in parlays when he was fighting Mir. Against Cain, he was a +140 dog. Doesn't make sense why they wouldn't allow it.

Yeah, the almost all heavyweight card. Main event was JDS vs. Mir, co-main event was Velasquez vs. Big Foot. Velasquez and JDS were both huge favorites. MGM wouldn't allow one of them to be used in parlays. Pretty sure it was JDS, but might of been Velasquez.

Useless is being overvalued in this spot..Moraga is gonna have a sizable wrestling advantage and a slight striking advantage in my eyes...I'm not overly concerned with Moraga getting caught in the guard of Gomez...I think he can put Gomez there and keep him there by doing heavy work from half guard...my only worry is getting caught with the guillotine of Gomez in the later stages of the fight when he's tired and his TD's become less technical.

Moraga barely beat a guy who is 0-3. I don't think he can make it three rounds without getting submitted. This is Gomez's first fight at 125 and the opposition he beat at 135 weren't all big cans like Moraga's opponents.

That very well may prove to be the case...I'm just taking the +160 on a guy I don't think Gomez will be able to take down when he wants to.

I can see Moraga taking a decision or even getting lucky with a KO, but more than likely Gomez ends it with a sub. He can take a close decision, too, but if it goes the distance, it might be Moraga's... Really hoping Gomez comes through, though.

lol. i was in AC for the bellator event where mike chandler beat patricky friere in the tournament. my buddy had a good chunk on friere, who lost. so we run into chandler (with his family) in a restaurant after the fights. my friend kept saying he was going to stomp out chandler. it was hilarious. he was talking loud enough that it got a little awkward for everyone, esp. our wives. lol. next day he claims someone laced his drink and he couldnt remember anything (he also didnt remember yelling "you da man, jimmy smith" in the mens room, which was another awkward moment).
