Faber's going to be too fast for Barao, and Baraos chin is questionable. I wouldn't be surprised if he got TKOd but I think it'll probably be an easy UD win for Faber.

Are you seriously saying a guy that has never had a tko loss has a questionable chin? Even if that was true and it in no way is, Faber is not a guy who would expose that. Faber is a guy who wants to take you to the ground and submit you, unfortunately for him Barao has great TDD and if he somehow gets him down (I doubt it) Barao also possesses a good ground game. Barao has far superior striking and the kicks he is going to throw are going to give Faber fits. Put it all together and you have a comfortable Barao win. Will he finish it? Maybe, but i see a 5 round unanimous decision 49-46. I also think the line is a joke and a lot of it has to do with Faber being far more known to the public. Should be around -240.

Right now I have a parlay with Lombard and Faber at +245 and when Baraos' odds get better I'll get him in a parlay with Lombard and Ebersole.

Barao is not over rated at all and Kongo is not more skilled than Jordan. If anything Barao had been really underrated until recently.

If you seriously think Faber is a better striker review the film or check your eyes. Barao is the far superior striker. Faber can win if he can push Barao to the cage or take him down but i don't see that happening. If this is a stand up fight Faber will be in huge trouble.

Similar, except Aldo is 10 times better than Barao. Looks like you guys are buying into the Barao hype, I wouldnt put him in too many parlays if I were you. I'll end this with saying let's just wait and see what happens.

For the record, I'm leaning Faber for value at the current line... still some tape to review if I'm even gonna play this one...

And I do think just capping this fight as a Faber vs Aldo redux is a bit lazy just because Pegado is Aldo's teammate at Nova Uniao...

But that bit about Faber taking down Pegado if he uses leg kicks just seems a bit zany given the precedent that has been set stylistically. Haven't been studying Faber's fights with a microscope so maybe I missed him changing his stance (in which he frequently just leaves his lead leg out there with a bulls eye on it).

I do feel people are getting a bit carried away in thinking Pegado is the 2nd coming of Aldo though.

Faber is one of the smartest fighters in the sport and he never ceases to improve his game. To think that he's just gonna let Barao destroy his leg like Aldo did doesn't make very much sense. Personally I'm not gonna put too much money on this fight but Fabers value right now is amazing.

Ok that's your opinion. If everyone had the same opinion the world and this forum would be boring. I think the 1st round will be very telling to see if Faber can do what everyone else fails at in trying to take Barao down. If he can't, watch out.

If Faber wins this fight, I think it will be by close decision on the feet. He needs to have a solid gameplan where he gets in and out with good combinations and works his jab. I just think this is Barao's fight to lose. Both these guys need to fight a smart fight, but Barao is the more skilled and more talented fighter. I feel his BJJ is better than Aldo's. He could probably finish this fight from his guard. I can't recall seeing Barao fight from his guard, I wonder how active he is re: submission attempts and strikes.

Highly doubt you'll find it anywhere but the Barao vs Leone fight from his WEC debut shows how good Barao's grapplin game is. Leone was doin very well in tht fight (and arguably winning). He took Barao down in first half and was doing ok in the striking. Then in the third he took Barao down again and Barao absolutely tooled him on the ground. I think he went for a heelhook and used tht to reverse position and end up on top then latched on to an armbar and Leone tapped out. Obviously Faber is a complete different level to Leone but shows tht Barao isnt a "duck out of water" when/if it comes to him being on his back.

Vaughany, I'll keep doing threads like that until I lose. Let's see how many predictions I can get correctly in a row. If I lose once, then I'm not allowed to make threads like that anymore.
