#5338Hmmm, I'm not sure I buy into the whole, "cover your mouths, their listening to our valuable mma insight on here". For starters, it's almost impossible to get a straight answer because for every 10 ppl that have an opinion on something, theres going to be 7 that disagree. And these disagreements cannot be rectified until the fight actually happens and then and only then do we find out who was wrong and who was right. No offense, but I don't think that they give a shit about what you or I, or anyone else on here has to say. In fact this place probably just confuses oddsmakers even more lol. I come here to see how many people agree with my opinions, but a lot of the time find myself going against what everyone says, and sometimes I'm right and sometimes I'm wrong. There are plenty of ways to obtain knowledge besides this sbr forum. This isn't the only resource available on the planet where valuable mma analysis is being discussed and debate is going on questioning whether or not fighters are over valued/undervalued and what price they should be capped at. Please don't ask me to prove it by showing you the sites. I don't know what url's their located at but they obviously exist. I don't know if you've heard of the mma analyst (youtube) but he puts up very very good numbers that have been historically published and documented, and they are the best I have seen so far. He is involved in a subscription based private chat room with other cappers. Thats just one example. How many other private rooms do you think exist? Obviously a lot, not just this sbr forum. I thought ppl were joking at first with the whole, "Dam I shouldn't of said that, the lines just shifted a whole point!" non-sense. Then reading deeper into it I realized ppl were actually serious lmfao.
Yet BEFORE the line is out I don't understand why you guys don't think its a very real possibility that they look on here as part of their research and analysis. Yes, there are a few other forums out there and you didn't need to list the links, I've looked into a few others. Yet if you've looked into them too, then you know that this particular forum is by far the best for mma gambling discussion. I feel that any intelligent lines maker will recognize this as the superior mma betting forum out there and as a proper research minded individual would do, he would look on here as part of his research. Great point with the 10 people saying one fighter will win and then 7 others coming out and saying they disagree and pick the other guy, but really, how often does that happen? From what I've noticed the good cappers on here are usuallly in agreement, although I can def think of some fights where there was clear cut disagreement. However, and this is what I think is very important, not everyone on here might have the best credibility. There are a good number of guys here who REALLY know their mma and are REALLY good at their research and analysis. It would not surprise me for a serious lines maker to take these 'good' cappers' insight much more seriously than other people on here. Therefore I do think they might give a shit about a few of us on here and recognize some of us as seriously good cappers and bettors. I mean, we are the people they are trying to take money from, would you agree? I would assume that they would like to know what the 'enemy' is thinking, especially an 'enemy' with a proven record of taking their money. And while there might be private chat rooms with 'special' access that perhaps a line maker can set up where he allows legit mma gamblers to go there and discuss and he can get in on the info there, I find that far fetched. The most valuable source is the source that has the most public insight, in my opinion. I do think this is the best mma betting discussion source... Anyone that disagrees please point me to an exact site that has better discussion than here because I have yet to find one, perhaps I'm not looking in the right places?? (and not Bloody E or mania's 'dissections' or predictions and previews that come out a few days before the fights, I'm talking about pointing me to an ongoing discussion site like a chat forum)...
So all in all I really do believe that discussion PRIOR to a line coming out can affect the line makers' reasoning. I'm not saying it does all the time, but for isntance, what if there's a fight that the lines maker themselves don't know much about or can't do much research on? Or perhaps they really can't set the line with confidence or break down the styyle match up between the two fighters? A smart person is going to research all avenues of information, including this giant goldmine of a source on mma gambling... This is the best mma gambling discussion forum out there I think and therefore I think it is a very legitimate and valuable source for a lines maker or one of their researchers (it would not surprise me to hear kalikas say he has never been on here for research, but I bet some of his researchers / helpers do go on here to get info - and now that I think about it, if Kalikas could answer this question he would certainly humble me if I'm wrong - but then again he could just be bullshittting and hopes we wouldn't care and would discuss all fights prior to the line being set!!!)...
I hope you folllow what I'm saying I know my writing is choppy and I unfortunately don't have the time to edit it perfectly. I guess like the other dude we agree to disagree on it, but again like I've been saying all along I do agree with people that once the line is ALREADY out then the discussion doesn't really affect line movement. Cheers.Last edited by MMAbetMASTA; 04-10-12, 08:53 PM.Comment -

#5341Latest Rory Mac blog:
While many of you reading this will have enjoyed the Easter weekend to the maximum, I wasn't quite so lucky. A fight against Che Mills on April 21 -- less than two weeks away now -- meant I had to cut out the Easter eggs and the overindulgence and instead keep my mind focused on what lies ahead.
As an alternative, I went to church and hung out with my second family on Sunday. We sat around the table and ate good food and, though I wasn't able to eat too much, it didn't annoy or frustrate me. I'm on a strict diet regime right now and know the benefits of sticking to it.
Sometimes I'll make up for this lack of good food after the fight. It depends on my cravings. Most people expect fighters to go crazy with food after a fight's done, because they've been dieting for so long, but that's not always the case. There have been many occasions when I've finished a fight and haven't wanted to eat anything afterwards. My body might have grown accustomed to dieting and not eating bad foods.
Anyway, Sunday also acted as my rest day and the chance for any little niggles and injuries to heal up. I needed that more than any chocolate. All in all, it was a pretty successful Easter.
I've got a pretty tough week ahead of me now, but for the most part, the toughest stage of training is now done and I'm just gearing up for fight week. I was sick for a couple of weeks, when everybody in the gym was fighting a cold, but I haven't let it impact my training or my progress. I still feel extremely strong and fit, despite having to shake off that cold along the way.
There are always bugs and illnesses going around the gym and that’s just something you have to deal with. Very few fighters will ever go through a camp completely unscathed. You'll either pick up some sort of cold or niggle. That's just the business we're in. If you feel 100 per cent and perfect going into a fight, there's a good chance you weren't training hard enough.
Luckily, this training camp has been one of my healthiest to date. Aside from the cold I mentioned, there has been very little else wrong with me during preparation. This has allowed me to knuckle down and work harder than ever for this fight.
With Easter now passed, I'm focusing solely on my fight with Mills on April 21. I will also be an interested observer when the UFC visits Sweden for the very first time this coming weekend. In particular, I'm very keen to watch my friend Francis Carmont fight. He was a major part of my training camp and we have spent a lot of time together over these last few weeks. He's a very, very good fighter, with a lot of potential in this sport. Not only do I expect big things from him in Sweden, I think he can do some major things in the UFC beyond this fight. I'd advise everybody to keep an eye on him.
The fight between Alexander Gustafsson and Thiago Silva is a very solid main event and a great crossroads clash. Gustafsson is the guy on the way up and Silva is somebody who may have already had his time. We'll probably find out whether that's true or not in this fight. If Gustafsson has aspirations of one day fighting for and maybe even winning the UFC world title, he needs to make a statement against Silva this weekend. There will be a lot of pressure on him fighting at home, but he seems mature enough to deal with it.
The co-main event between Brian Stann and Alessio Sakara should also be a really fun fight. I'll take Brian to win via decision or late stoppage, but I've always been a fan of Sakara's boxing style. He's very good with his hands, does everything by the book and also punches quite hard. Brian might be better in more areas, but Alessio is good enough to give him a few scares along the way.
After a recent dry patch of UFC events, it's great to have some events back in our lives. This one in Sweden will act as the ideal appetizer ahead of UFC 145 the following weekend, and all the inspiration I need to destroy Che Mills...Comment -

#5343"I think he'll stay with me and stand up," Sakara said. "He's a tough guy, and I'm a tough guy too. We'll do the standup."
Sakara, who makes no secret of his game plan for the fight, then smiled.
"Jiu-jitsu?" he asked. "It's no good for this fight."Comment -

#5346Adding:
20 units on Maguire at -114 to win 17.5 units;
5.5 units on Maguire at -110 to win 5 units.
Still hungover from the Easter weekend over here, having a hectic week at work and tired as fuuuck so not sure I should be making too many bets. I like Maguire though to Gypsy jiu-jitsu DaMarques' ass this wknd and choke him out or grind out a decision. May hedge with DaMarques TKO if odds are good and availableComment -

#5352Damn, pissed off I didnt have enough time this week to look at the Cage Warriors event. Kutsch beats Phillips easily by heel-hook in round 1. Would of been a massive play on Chris Fields against Phillips but Fields pulled out injured. Should of still faded Phillips against +150 Kutsch...Phillips has next to zero ground gameComment -
