    Jenga's official MMA picks
I am new to the forum, however I have been betting on MMA for quite some time, and have done quite well so I wanted to start contributing to the forum with my plays. Feel free to follow along, or critique my picks as I go. I only play on Bovada, but am looking in to opening accounts on separate forums... feel free to give advice about which ones you like.

    Current bets I have pending:

                    (9301) Daniel Cormier +160 Sep 27/14@11:45p

Thanks guys! Locking another one early. I really like Cormier in this fight. The only thing that is going to stop Cormier is someone with crisp striking AND a lot of power behind those strikes. Jones will keep the range pretty well, but I don't think it will be enough to keep Cormier at bay, he is a tank, gonna land some takedowns, and keep Jones confused. Not sure which way this line would go, but I would guess on namesake alone the line will get better for me, which if it does you will see more money added on to this one.

When I put it in I thought that the fight was going to end in one of the three rounds... when putting it in I was obviously going to lose two, but I felt like if I covered the three rounds odds were good that I was going to hit on one. Kinda like a reverse parlay type of thing. I plan on placing bets in this thread for a while, so I am cool to count it as three individual bets. Looking back I still like the play as well.

Not really. This isn't a new injury. It also doesn't seem to debilitating. I plan on Jones to target both legs early and often (I am actually looking forward to see some sway kicks to the right leg, and because Cormier will not want to give up ground Jones will mix in head strikes with kicks to the back leg). It very well could play a factor, but I think if he gets through the training camp without it slowing him down it won't be as much of an issue as people make it out to be. Simply put: I like Cormier's strengths going into the fight enough to take that risk.

It's easy to look at that fight and say "Barao got dominated", but I did not leave it thinking Dillashaw was the better fighter. Barao is a deceptively slow starter+ he was confused by that gameplan (nobody saw that style coming)+ he got caught big early+ even if Dillashaw is the "better fighter (which I wholeheartedly do not believe) Barao can still finish that fight in many, many ways. I expect him to make adjustments coming into the fight, be little bit fresher, use a lot more mobility, and dominate the fight. (Ironically I did win money betting on Dillashaw in the first fight.)

I guess i understand your reasoning, but in my thread i count every single bet as a win loss (even if there are weird props when you cant win them all). Just seems a little deceptive, but to each his own!

HAHA oh I would, but honestly I thought about doing it both ways, and I don't really care about the record as much as showing a pretty consistent profit... Plus I remember skimming through your bets once and thinking "oh this guy likes MMA Lab fighters" which is where I trained, so you are cool in my book! lol

im just trying to keep a record to see where i stand after a year. I used to bet huge units and have to reload all the time, but now im taking a very conservative approach (most bets are under a unit). Its amazing how many guys on this site will tell you how much they had on a fighter after they won, yet wont post their actual plays and amounts (guess they really want to look cool). So ya, its cool that you are keeping a record.

I take a lot of underdogs and props, which can have tons of variance obviously, so thats my main reasoning for keeping my bets real slow

                                          Good luck man!
