They didn't announce on the broadcast, anyone know if the fights still on and if they're making him cut? MMAjunkie says yes, but could just be a canned response.
Ahhh nevermind:
"Means missed weight by five pounds. Brett Okamoto of ESPN tweeted: "Confirmed with UFC that Tim Means will not reattempt. Forfeits part of his purse to Castillo. Was four pounds over."

I would agree if they were forcing the cut, but he didn't look too bad (he always looks kinda bad because of his height). Defiitely wouldn't bet Means at this point, but don't think all hope is lost.

I agree with you about the forcing of the cut. However this is still bad for Means. He must have a reason for missing weight. As far as I can remember he has had ample time to train for this fight. He either had an injury preventing him from training or he didn't take training too seriously. That's my take on it at least. I am happier about my Castillo bet now. That's for sure. Glad I didn't take Masvidal. For the record, is there anyone here favoring Chiesa? With or without the weight cut.

Means is scared of the sauna now, He knows they have a score to settle, and that it would probably smash him brutally again. It aint even in the ufc neither mang
Thus he cant cut weight. Poor guy.

* Masvidal initially weighed 157.5 pounds but was given an additional two hours and made weight on his second attempt.

Pounded the rory line here. I don't think this will be a close fight at all. I cap him at -450.

Those two hours of weight cutting will drain him during the fight..

-450 is a little crazy. What is the justification for that? The guy has knocked out some top fighters.

Barring a knockout in the first 3 minutes before his offense becomes entirely ineffective, I don't see him having much for MacDonald. His wrestling may be an issue but I don't think we've actually seen what MacDonald is capable of yet in that department when presented with a legitimate opponent. I may be over confident here, and if one was to cap Rory in the -300 range I would understand their position, but I think Ellenberger is atrociously overrated. His striking is god awful, his footwork is terrible, and his only threats to Rory are a few minutes of wrestling before he gasses and a strong hand against a vastly superior opponent on the feet. I don't expect this to be a close fight, but who knows.

His striking gets described as atrocious all the time but he has knocked out or dropped almost every opponent he has faced in the ufc. Outside of Carlos Eduardo Rocha and maybe Jay Hieron(I missed that fight) he has knocked out or dropped every opponent he has had in the ufc and he has 10 fights in the ufc. Maybe his striking looks technically shitty but he gets the job done.

You keep saying this. What does that have to do with anything? If you go into a restaurant and order a steak, and you get served a porkchop, what do you say then? "You can still eat it"? "Still has nutrients"? Ellenberger's striking looks "technically shitty" because he's a technically shitty striker.

Luckily it's MMA and technically shitty striking is par for the course.
I mean, put a technically shitty striker with the world's biggest power in there against Mayweather. Line is -1000 Mayweather.
