I've built a time machine and I gathered 16 fighters and took them from their prime and I brought them to the year 1994 to participate in UFC 2. For those of you that haven't seen UFC 2 these were/are the rules: No rounds. No time limit. No weight classes. No biting. No eye gauging. No referee interference's(eg breaks or stand ups). Gi's are optional. You can wear gloves or go bare knuckle. Everything else goes. To put it bluntly it's very much like a street fight. The fight is over when someone taps or gets KO'd. 16 fighters start off in this tournament. The fighter that wins 4 fights in a row wins the tournament. Here are the 16 fighters with some of their credentials in no particular order:
Anderson Silva: Current UFC Champ at 185 lbs. Possibly the best pound for pound fighter of all time.
Fedor Emelianenko: Best Pride fighter of all time. Went nearly a decade without losing a fight.
Jon Jones: Current UFC Champ at 205 lbs. If you watch MMA you know who he is.
Dan Henderson: Rock solid chin and a vicious right hand. He's dangerous against anyone.
Chuck Liddell: Was dominant in the UFC from 2004 to 2006. All his wins during that time were by KO.
Bas Rutten: Went 21-0-1 in his final 22 fights. He's a pioneer for current MMA.
Rickson Gracie: Said to be the best Gracie fighter of all time with supposedly over 400 wins and no defeats.
Cain Velasquez: Current UFC Heavyweight Champ. His cardio is ridiculous for a Heavyweight.
Junior Dos Santos: Only man to beat Cain Velasquez. This guy hits hard.
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira: Probably the 2nd best fighter on the planet during the Pride years.
Daniel Cormier: Word class wrestling along with good striking. He's currently undefeated.
Vitor Belfort: One of the most explosive strikers in the history of MMA.
Glover Teixeira: He's currently on an 18 fight win streak.
Roger Gracie: Some of the best BJJ on the planet. I think he might do well with these rules.
Gegard Mousasi: He's underrated in my opinion. Good striking and good subs. He's 21-1-1 in his last 23 fights.
Cole Konrad: Bit of an unknown with excellent wrestling. He's currently undefeated.
Before anyone responds with "YOUR LIST OF 16 SUCKS!" I fully realize that this list of 16 is FAR from perfect. I included some fighters because of their skill in a particular discipline whether it be wrestling, BJJ, or striking. Back in 1994 virtually none of the fighters were well rounded. That being said, lets assume each fighter is +800 to win the tournament. Who would you bet on?
