Buying dips at $36,000 and selling at $38,000 works well until it doesn't. For instance, you sell at $38,000, but the price just keeps going up. Now you have cash and no coins. To get back in the game you have to buy back at a higher price thus losing the profits you made.

Same in the other direction (going down). You buy at $36,000, but the price just goes down. Now you have no cash and coins that you paid for at prices more than they are now worth.

It works as long as the price fluctuates around a middle point and fails when that middle point moves significantly.

Everyone already knows the criminals use cash too. They cant regulate bitcoin. If they try to, opposing countries like Russia and China will benefit by welcoming bitcoin. It would destroy the already weak American economy.

Great points, but with any market that is the volatile you are bound to see many peaks and valleys. Question is, is 5-10% worth it every change it dips like it is now to potentially miss out on the next big run that you end up cashing out way too early once you hit your threshold. So many people using this strategy with penny stocks right now its why the market is a mess.

Has to take a quick breath before moving north. If you believe we are done with the BTC rally, you make a mistake. Also, it needs to take a breath to allow ethereum and the other cryptos to catch up. IMO, it is a matter of days until it goes back to new All Time Highs.

Hopefully we won't see a huge dump since there are still many in government that support cryptos https://finance.yahoo.com/video/bide...213016191.html

And more on the good side CME ETH futures along with an upcoming Coinbase IPO.

Govt's dont hate crypto. They love the idea of traceable cash.

Negative comments are mostly about seeding ideas to help eventually take more control I think.

Yellen works for the International Banksters. Of course she's gonna talk shit about Bitcoin. I mean if she wants to talk about illegal activities, she should be talking about auditing the Federal Reserve, especially since she was the head honcho there. But she wouldn't dare. She's a fukking criminal and we have these people dictating what's right for us. That's the real problem in Congress...

Crypto Transactions Associated With Criminal Activity Fell Dramatically In 2020

The “criminal” share of activity in cryptocurrency transactions fell to 0.34% - around $10 billion – last year. The figure is much lower than the share seen in 2019 of 2.1%, representing $21.1 billion.

According to data firm Chainalysis, the large decrease partly came as the total cryptocurrency-based economic activity grew three-fold from 2019 to 2020, and the firm underestimated the number of active addresses linked to criminal conduct in 2019.

Some addresses linked to criminal activity in 2019 were not identified until later, including some associated with the enormous PlusToken Ponzi scheme, which took over $2 billion from millions of victims.

Chainalysis highlighted scams were much smaller last year. Darknet markets were the second-largest crime category crypto transactions were used for, and accounted for $1.7 billion. To the firm, the “big story” for crypto crime in 2020 was the rise of ransomware, which accounted for 7% of all funds received by criminal addresses.

The funds received by addresses associated with ransomware, however, went up 311% from 2019. The COVID-19 pandemic and working from home have opened new vulnerabilities to these attacks.

I actively traded about a half dozen coins in 2020, making several hundred trades. Overall I returned about 3% collectively. But I ran into the problem I described. Once I kept buying coins on a slide and ended up with no cash in the account and a lot of coins that I had to take losses on. Similar on a move upward, sold all the coins leaving lots of cash and no coins. Had to start over at a higher price point.

The process was time consuming each morning to download the previous day's prices, run the program, enter about a dozen buys/sells at limit prices, update transaction records, etc. I finally decided to forgo this work and simply buy and hold. (I do share the view that large upward moves will continue.) In its place, I moved my attention to developing a soccer system. I am just a single old man, working alone, and have limited time available. Hence my priorities change.

I may revisit trading cryptos but only if I can automate the process more, including API's to make the trades. A significant effort and not yet at the top of my priority list.
