Yu Darvish Shouldn't Be a Road Favorite on Saturday
The Texas Rangers continue to be incredibly overvalued in the MLB betting odds, considering that they've scored the fewest runs (34) in the majors leagues in the month of July:

    • Rangers SP Yu Darvish is 0-2 with a 6.75 ERA when facing a team for a third time this year
    • Five of Darvish's six losses have come on the road (3-5, 4.42 ERA away from Arlington overall)
    • The Rangers have dropped their last four games as a road favorite of -110 to -150
    • Texas has lost its last five games against AL West opponents with Darvish on the moun
    • The Angels are 0-2 as a home underdog of +100 to +125 this season (2-0 under)
    • The Angels are 10-3 in Ervin Santana's last 13 efforts as a home underdog
    • Santana has a 1.06 ERA in his last two home starts - making his first start at Angel Stadium since June 23
    • Santana has allowed 20 HRs this year, but the Rangers have hit just eight in July

The A.J. Burnett money tree lands in a favorable spot on Saturday night, as he enjoys throwing in umpire Dale Scott's strike zone:

-Burnett has made three career starts with Dale Scott behind home plate, leading his team to victories each of those efforts, while not allowing an earned run in 21.1 combined innings (3-0 under)
-The Pirates right-hander is the second-most profitable pitcher in baseball this year (+1,166), trailing only New York Mets knuckleballer R.A. Dickey (+1,318)
-Pittsburgh has won all nine of his home starts this year

I put 250 on pirates, 100 on darkish. I agree darkish is scary on the road. I put a little since Santana isn't super either. I hate betting on road teams, but I thought, "what the hell". I also put 250 on white sox, but I always expect to get screwed on the road.

              Nice stats Jeff.

I'll be looking at the PIT and LAA finals tonight after hanging out at the Ocean Festival today...

Best of luck on all your bets!

I increased my pirates bet to $1250! Unfortunately price jumped from -135 last night (my first $250), to -150 (subsequent $1000)

                Good luck to you too!

No offense man, but you really are cherry picking a lot of useless stats/trends there. You could find numerous little trends that favor the Rangers too. Just saying..
