Anybody here place any wagers on nationals to win the east before the season started? Also what is the innings limit on Strasburg? Are they gonna shut him down in early September?

they can definitely win the east. phillies are effectively out of contention and im still stubborn about the mets, i think they will fade. marlins and braves will contend too it will be a tight finish. i read a report after strasburgs last start where the manager was still mentioning that they planned to shut strasburg down, im not sure if they will do it if they're still in a tight race come september.

i think the fact that gio has stepped up so well means they will shut down stras. a 1-3 of gio, zimmerman and e-jax is still a better 1-3 than a lot of other rotations. and you really only need 3 good starters to make a postseason run
