i like the the Pirates/Jays over. i like that over, the CWS/Rockies over and the Dodgers/Twins under, just not quite as much as the three that i played. trying to be disciplined and stick with 3 plays, but it's not easy. FYI, the roof is supposed to be open in Toronto tonight, which should help the over. i remember when they first opened the roof there earlier this season, first few games flew over. i think it's a good value because Jays were on such an under streak in NL parks.
i don't like that it seems like everyone is on the Cards/O's over, but i'm trying not to think about it. both Lohse and Britton have xFIPs around a run higher than their respective ERA, and both pens are really shaky. i think Lohse will get knocked around, his last few starts have been more of the Lohse we all know. i think that the Cards can get 2-3 off of Britton and a couple off of the pen. he was starting to look shaky a few starts ago before righting the ship against A's then in two NL parks (DC and pittsburgh).

i have a formula and spreadsheet that i use as a starting point (it's a pretty standard formula that i put together with Justin7's book and other similar sources), then potentially adjust based upon other factors (park, bullpen fatigue, weather, impact of SP being LHP vs RHP given opponent, ump, line movement, past numbers vs SP).

haha, good one, LM. for what it's worth, it seems as if the method that i use tends to generate plays, at least in part, based upon the delta between ERA and xFIP. so, if ERA is relatively high, i'm more likely to be on under, and if ERA is relatively low, i'm more likely to be on the over.Comment
