First of all you cant just blindly look at avgs and say they are batting bad. You have to look further.

1> Firstly, many people have less than 3 ABs against dickey...thats not enough ABs to judge a hitter.
2> Secondly, many of those hitters are not playing tonight. You need to look at today's lineup.

Dickey embarrassed Atlanta batters twp weeks ago and he will do it again. Dickey's knuckler is tough to hit when it's hot because it dances more in humid weather, that's why he started heating up in mid-May just when the national heat wave hit.

Why are they a terrible team? They are also playing injured right now, and are playing well.. If johan could ever get healthy again and when wright gets back, they have some talent on that team.... and btw, the braves have played their best ball since they got beat up--so tough to use that as an excuse.

And yes, it will help getting heyward back in the lineup, but as you saw with Utley in Philly, it takes a few games to get readjusted to big league speed. But BOL tonight, unfortunately im on braves small myself..

I find it hilarious that when the muts go on a little winning streak they begin to have high hopes and believe they can compete with the braves. No question the phillies are the team to beat in the nl next to the braves. But the Mets have a terrible pitching staff.

no i agree.. if this was 2005 and johan was the man, it might be another story...but they are still the circus mets-- but they do have some talent that comes out every now and again that can bite ya in the butt if you dont watch out for it

And yet they have beat atl the last 2. Trust me im no mets supporter, in fact normally i avoid nyy teams like the plague. I didnt say anything about them competing for the div but they are playing good ball right now and Dickey isnt the guy you wanna see when your bats are slumping. Playing mets tonight is in no way saying they are gonna finish ahead of atl when all is said and done.

Its baseball so anything can happen, at least one of us will be happy.
