Houlihan, it was all kind of a fluke! I had never even heard of Sportrends and my original intent was to do some reseach on the "NeuralBets" software. I googled "Neuralbet baseball reviews" and came upon this SBR forum. Here I read about how much Neuralbet sucked and how this other program called Sportrends was quite good - in particular I noticed how FormulaWiz said he had very good success with it over many years. After reading up on the software at the Sportrends site, I gave them a call and spoke with Sam. Sam himself then even mentioned how FormulaWiz had a separate discussion thread regarding the software at SBR forums... and that brought me here!

Would be even better if it had made the cutoff point either day. The free plays have done well whether they meet the cutoff or not but lately the ones NOT making the cutoff point have done VERY well.

Since June 1st, I have the ones making the cutoff point at 10-6 and the ones not making the cutoff point at 8-1. This is NOT saying you should play it when it doesn't make the cutoff point, just what it's done lately.

Of course, since I posted this, expect it to change - I seem to have a habit of talking about good streaks when they are about to end.

Thanks Houlihan. Would anyone be able to give me a bit of guidance/tips in using Sportrends Baseball in general? The manual pretty much only says what the different functions and key inputs stand for, without much discussion on how to best use the program.
A few specific questions that I do have would be:

(1) In "Pick Winners", when it asks "Enter Past Number of Days to Use (99 for YTD stats)". What is the best number to enter here?
(2) Using today's Atlanta/SanDiego game as an example, among the "Pythagorean Theorem" figures it shows "Conf > NLE = +.564" and "Conf > NLW = -.366". I get that NLE and NLW stand for National League East and West, but what does "Conf" mean, and what would these numbers represent?
(3) Using today's Cincinnati/Baltimore game as an example, it says "Play Cincinnati and H. Bailey". Even though it's not a "Best Bet", is this still a good play?
(4) Does a "Best Bet" mean that you should really load up on that particular play?
