    Opening Day Red Sox Lineup
Francona on Boston sports radio today..

    Ellsbury
    Pedroia
    Crawford
    Gonzalez
    Youkalis
    Ortiz

That's a dangerous first six hitters.

ortiz is done, he won't be able to survive a slow start and comeback for the 3rd year in a row

        probably gets injured too

It should be Drew (255/341/452 last year); Scutaro (275/333/388 last year) amd Saltamachia, certainly not bad for the 7,8,9 hitters espically when the have a host of younger players like Reddick, Kalish, Navaro and Lowrie looking to make an impact and take those spots,

Meh, completely forgot about JD Drew. Guess I'm not all into the baseball fever to forget such a simple thing.

Yeah, the bottom three hitters won't be great....but they should be able to hold their own.

                    7. Drew
                    8. Salty
                    9. Scutaro

Scutaro is a better defensive player than Lowrie, but Lowrie has the better bat. They're going to give Salty a chance, hopefully he can hit .270 and throw out baserunners. The Sox haven't been able to throw anyone out for years. This is a contract year for Drew and he knows he has to produce or he'll be a year by year player for the rest of his career.

So with Cameron as the obvious 4th wheel, who wins the 5th OF spot? McDonald, Nava, or Kalish?

and Drew needs to stay healthy for his sake.

adding a frieken 3 and 4 hitter in the off season on any team would help, but adding a 3 and 4 to the RED SOX!!!!

So crazy...they have TOO many good hitters that they can't even put Gonzo batting 3rd (which is where I thought he should be). So sick...it's like a fantasy team.
