I'm looking for an angle as to why to fade Nola and the Phils tonight.
I've looked here, there, and everywhere, I can not.

Personally I think Nola and the Phils win and go up 2-0 but I don't lay 165-170ish.
(I may hook up Phils in a two team money line / football parlay later)

    No play tonight

I did hit my Rangers bet last night.
    Postseason record to date.

    9-2

    I have no future tickets.
I had Texas to beat Tampa Bay series bet.
I had Texas to beat Baltimore series bet
And I currently have Texas to beat Houston series bet.

I tend to shy away from futures for a couple of reasons but I did have UCONN hoops futures last winter that did me and others on the boards here very well.

Nasher thank you for all of the picks and posting on here! What do you think about the total tonight? I'm leaning over 9.5

Astros win tonight. I can’t believe Texas is just going to throw Max Scherzer on the mound after he hasn’t pitched in over a month. I guess being up 2-0 in the series gives them the wiggle room to experiment wildly in this game 3…?

they're saying max around 60 pitches.

i agree with you i'd bring him in as relief that said...who knows what he'll bring? you'd think he'd do bad, but he's an elite pitcher, maybe he needed the rest? i just find it impossible, sometimes the best thing to do is hold your ca$h

First and foremost thank you for your words.

    Appreciate that and appreciate you.

    This is what I think.

I think Max is on a pitch count, his max (see what I did there?) innings pitched would be five full innings.
I think Houston gets at least two runs no more than three in the F5.

Javier had a crappy year, he won ten games because the Astros sticks bailed him out most of the season.
His ERA was up, his WH/IP was bad, he gave up a ton of taters, and his walks were up too.

Personally, since the Rangers 'pen stinks, and Javier equally stinky I can see a 8-6 game either way.

    Again, thanks for your words.

    Philly in Game 3.
Philly is much to much for Arizona, I think Philly sweeps the series.
I'll lay the thirty cents this afternoon.

    Phils
    -130

I'm not taking credit for the OVER 9.5 last night.
I wrote it up as to why it would go over, but I did not post it as a play
    Postseason to date remains 9-2

    These two kids are dealing.
Two hit shutouts each through five full innings.

First five full innings played in 74 minutes.
Baseball like it used to be.

It's a best of three series now Johnny, Texas has Montgomery and Eovaldi lined up, both teams are comfortable in the others team home park, Texas isn't in trouble, if they lose in seven games, so be it, I never claimed the Rangers would sweep the series in four games straight. We shall see, but nobody is in trouble.

    Good call on Houston.
I think Texas wins game six tonight as well.

That Phillie game was a classic old school baseball game.
Thoroughly enjoyed it, I would have enjoyed it even more if the Phillies won it 2-1, but that's life.
Great game, pitching, defense, managers locked up in a chess game...

    Missed the Phillies wager.

Both games the wrong team won

Phillies had the game won they kept Kimbrel in well past when it was clear he was shot. I couldn't believe it

Astros put the rangers pitcher on ice. Pitched in the 8th didn't pitch for what, 30 mimutes

That's gambling. right team wrong result

    10/22

    Game six.
    Tex/Hou UNDER 4.5 runs F5

No way Eovaldi and Framber give up more than three runs combined.
I'm expecting a very low scoring, tight first five.

    Best bet.
UNDER 4.5 runs, first five only.
    (pick 'em)

It makes no sense to double down on Texas in game seven later if I have a pending series wager hanging in the balance,

No play in the Rangers game later.

I can get Phillies +170 to comeback in this game right now.
Phillies have four batters that can eradicate a 3-1 deficit in a New York Minute.
Very tempted to hit Phillies in game live right here and now.

Postseason to date after the F5 wager cashed last night is 10-3

    definitely

i suppose it depends on where the odds are

if you're going to take live take the spread, that can be reasonable. moneyline is where they rip people off

    Baseball is just so unpredictable.
The whole world was on Houston and the Phillies -1.5 run last nite.
Surely everyone will be on Philly again.
Arizona has to be the play tonite. No pressure. Phillies couldnt hit under pressure last nite. Imagine it will be worse tonite. They have to be furious with that bozo manager pitching bum Kimbrel and blowing 2 games.

    Pass.
On paper Philadelphia should have won this series in five games.
Thing is the games are played on turf, not paper.

Phillies do have the split advantage on the mound though.
Arizona can't hit LHP for crap, as a team Arizona only hits .229 v. LHP
Ranger Suarez won't make you forget Sandy Koufax any time soon, but his last time out v. Arizona he twirled a tidy three hit shutout through five and a third innings.

I can't recommend Arizona starter Brandon Pfaadt.
    Eighteen starts, 96 innings pitched.
I did the math, his average start is 5 1/3 innings,
He's also given up 22 taters in 96 innings.
That's a crap load of gopher balls.

That's an average of one big fly every 4 1/3 inning.

I don't have to bet this game, and I am not.
I'm not laying -175 on a game where both starters are not going to make it out of the fifth inning.

My Texas Ranger series wager was graded, postseason to date 11-3.

I'm not sure I can maitain this pace, it's almost math defying.

if i had to bet it, i would go under. these pitchers are hot and you can be sure the lease on these guys in a game 7 is close to zero. they'll throw everything including starters into this game

but i've learned over the years i'm not good with totals.

so i stay away from it.
