Dodgers in an extremely close game. JJ hasn't really fooled the Dodgers in the past and they way they are hitting now there are plenty of guys on this team that will make him pay for his mistakes. JJ has to pitch a nearly mistake free game tomorrow in order to win. Furcal, Kemp, and Either are all very comfortable at the plate right now. With as hard as JJ throws all 3 of those guys can change the game with one swing. Kuroda went into Florida and diced them up and I expect much of the same tomorrow. Early line movement is already telling me much of the same. Dodgers have a much better bullpen if the game is tied after 7 or 8 (which very might well be the case). I originally thought that JJ would take this game from us but the way the Dodgers are hitting righties lately they will be able to push a few across. Expect a low scoring nail bitter. 4-3 or 3-2 I think Dodgers end up on top.Comment -

i agree dodger33. the lines show that it maybe a low scoring game and that kuroda will bounce back from his last outing. JJ only went 5 innings his last outing vs. the dodgers. marlins won because sherill blew the save. overall i trust the dodgers bullpin down the stretch than the marlins.Comment -

Good to see you on the dodgers as well. I said before this series started that they will take the marlins 2-1 and then sweep the stros. They are playing good ball before the all star break. With kemp finally starting to hit, it makes their offense so much more explosive. I'd wait for this line though. IMO, youll get better line if you wait for the dodgers/Comment -
It is far too nice in LA right now for a 6.5 under. It should be the pick but the way the Dodgers are hitting home runs lately it scares me a bit. A 3 run jack and you are screwed. Dodgers tagged JJ for 3 in 5 innings in Florida and I really wouldn't trust that bullpen. I really think its going to be 2-3 or 3-4 and as soon as that game gets tied up 3-3 you are screwed. I think 7 is safe but 6.5 is not a good number.Comment -

Ouch 0-3! Kuroda had 1 bad inning and it cost them. JJ was good last night but the Dodgers mailed the game in. Martin was swinging for a 4 run home run with no one on in the 8th. Whenever GA is in the line up you just know the Dodgers are going to suck that night.
Total of 7 tonight is very low and seems almost too low. This tells me Kershaw is going to be on his game and the Dodgers aren't going to score any runs. Over his last 4 or so outings Kershaw has gotten better and better. I really love him tonight because I don't think the cubbies are going to be able to hit him. I think a 7 inning 1 or 0 run performance is in the making tonight for the young lefty. Wells is good but cannot match that.

Okay fellas. Right out of the gate we have a 5 unit play. This ties the biggest play in this thread so far and if you've been following we nailed that play. We are taking the under 7 in the Dodger game tomorrow. Get it now as I fully expect it to make it to 6.5 and that is just not as enticing. Kershaw is getting better and better with every start and the Dodgers have been notoriously slow coming off of a day off this year. I expect them to sleep walk through the first couple of innings and by that time Carpenter will be in full rhythm and mowing them down.

I stand corrected, the line is moving the other way. I am playing the numbers here. The Dodgers have come out flat every time they have a day off. If they come out hitting then they got me, but I have faded them and taken the under the last few times they are coming off rest. Still very confident about the play.Comment -

Well I knew the Dodgers were going to come out flat and Kershaw hasn't looked that bad in like 2 months. Like 2dabank said the Cards really didn't hit exceptionally well yesterday the were just given great opportunities because Kershaw was behind every batter. I think Billingsly is going to come out and pitch pretty well. Dodgers do not hit lefties well at all and are under .500 against them on the road. Garcia has been terrific at home and I think the Dodgers will struggle with him. Thinking about taking the under and the game for equal amounts but haven't decided yet.Comment -

My two cents about the game last night. There is plenty of finger pointing to go around last night after the loss and no one person is more responsible than the other. Torre though is in charge of the team and responsible for his actions. I could never second guess a man with his credentials and I am not going to start today. It comes down to momentum when things are going well the breaks go your way and when shit is going bad you find new was to lose and the breaks don't go your way. The Dodgers are in a slump and are not going to break out unless some shit changes. Broxton is either hurt physically or mentally either way the dude needs serious rest. He has not looked this bad since his first couple attempts at closing a few years ago. He looks scared. Kuo can easily fill in right now as he has been one of the most dominant relievers in the league this year and did it again last night.
Without Manny in the line up this team just does not have the same confidence. X Paul gave them a huge lift last night and if they expect to win some games coming up he is going to have to keep it up. Otherwise you can just write this teams spot in for 4th place in the division. My college coach always used to say "thats how you finish 4th" and that just sums up the Dodgers effort the last two weeks.Comment -
On to today. No way in hell should the Dodgers be that big of a favorite. I am not saying they are going to win but unless they have a 7 run lead going into the 9th who is going to close it out? No Kuo no Broxton. Dodgers are .500 against lefties this year and Billignsly has been mediocre at home this year. He has done much better on the road. If the Dodgers have any shot at this game tonight Chad has to go 7 strong and give up 1 or 2 runs. There is value in the Giants but i don't like betting against desperate teams. Thoughts??Comment -
