I figured I would start a thread dedicated to a daily pick either for or against the Dodgers and answer any questions you guys have, be it in general about the Dodgers or specifically for a play that day. Anyone else is welcome to chime in and give your two cents. I played baseball all the way through College and have followed the Dodgers very closely for a long time now. I watch almost every Dodger game and would love to help you guys out with any questions.

Kuroda vs. Jackson. Dodgers are -110 total of 9.5.
Dodgers have won 3 in a row and as assumed are playing much better with Manny back in the line-up. Usually when the Dodgers post up runs like they did the last two nights they will roll like this for a few games. Arizona is 1-6 in Jacksons starts this year and look abismal at the plate. I don't expect Jackson to get lit up but I fully expect Kuroda to outpitch him. Dodgers are a great value today.

I can't believe the line for the game is only -138. Padres are as hot as any team right now and Garland has been great. I never really trusted him because he can be inconsistent but with a total at 7.5 this tells me Ramon Ortiz is going to go about 5 or 6 and give up 3 runs. Dodgers hitting is pretty hot themselves so my initial lean is the over here. I think -138 is very fairly priced also but I will report back with my final play(s).Comment -

Over 7.5 it is. Garland has been good but the Dodger hitting has been better. Dodgers are going to be good for at least 4 probably 5. I fully expect ortiz to give up no less than 3. He is not a starter and hasn't thrown more than 5 innings this year. Dodger bully is finally starting to turn it around but asking them for 4 innings right now is not the situation they want to be in. Dodgers should win this but I could very easily see their bully blowing it. The over is the safer play.

Over is getting bet hard, looks going to be 8 soon. It is at -120 for 7.5 most places. I would wait till it gets to 8 and -105 so you don't have to lay the extra juice. Don't worry about a push because there is going to be at least 9 runs.Comment -

Wow that was a tough loss on Friday. Too many chances to score 1 run and it didn't happen. 5 innings of Dodger bullpen like I predicted and 0 runs. Caught stealing right before Gonzalez's HR in the 2nd. 2 balls hit off the wall for the Dodgers. We move on. I went on vacation last weekend and did not have access to a computer but was able to call in the under on Saturday without even looking at the game. I just figured if the game Friday couldn't go over then Saturday's game had absolutely no shot in the world. The Dads are in a slump right now and now with Ethier out for the Dodgers we are going to have some fade material until he gets back. Lots of unders and betting against the Dodgers.Comment -

Leaning under 7.5 right now. Wish I would have got back into town earlier last night. I definitely would have jumped on it at 8. Also even without Ethier I really like the way the Dodgers have been playing recently. Martin out of nowhere is deciding he wants to contribute to the offense. Wandy is only an average pitcher on the road and Dodgers play much better at home. -150 is very fair. I will be back later after some more research.Comment -
It has been misty and cold (for So Cal) all day long here which means the ball isn't going to be traveling very far tonight. I am going to take the under 7.5 for a half unit and the Dodgers at -150 for another half unit.

Well another bad break as 3 unearned runs cost us the under. Tonight was rainy and cold in So Cal and the it should have been 3-2 victory if not for those 3 unearned runs, that is baseball though. Makes me 2-2 on the year and down .2 units so far. The fact that the Padres pulled out a victory over the Giants makes me feel even better about this Dodgers streak. I am going to ride them into tomorrow. I will have a write up later tonight. Again guys any questions about the Dodgers feel free to ask.

When not pitching against the Cards Bud Norris has an era of 9.3 and Houston is 1-4 in his starts. His K to walk ratio goes from 2-1 to almost 1-1. He WILL not make it past the 5th inning. Dodger bullpen is finally coming around and the Dodgers are 6-1 in Hiroki's starts this year. I dont think this will be a blow out but Dodgers should win fairly comfortably. 9 in a row for the Dodgers. Cashed both rl and ml plays bringing my total to 4-2 and up 1.8 units. Very interesting match up tomorrow. Would not bet against the Dodgers but am going to have a hard time backing Ortiz. Going to sleep on it.

Oritz got a no-decision Friday against the Padres. I'm not sure I'd want to risk anything on him until he put's together a couple of good outings back-to-back. I'm staying away from the game but with Eithier out and the Padres having played a dramatic extra-inning game on Tuesday night my inkling would be to play the under.Comment -
You are right the under should be the play but these same two faced off on last friday and neither was fooling their opponent. If Garland doesn't go deep we are going to get a tired bullpen from SD and Ortiz only went 4 innings. The Dodgers bullpen pitched 5 scoreless innings after that. I highly doubt they can repeat. I never like playing the under if two pitchers have a high chance of leaving before the 6th.Comment
