#2906I think I'm with you here. I think this line is not necessarily one for the Cubs but instead fading the Pirates on the road. I know the Pirates have been garbage on the road recently, but it's not like the North-Siders have been playing well recently, and on top of that they're only 2-7 against the Pirates this season. I think I might stay away from this one and wait and see if tomorrow's makes me feel any better.Comment -

#2910I know that this is early, but does the FAV system end at the end of August? I know some chase systems end at this time. I went back to the first post and I didn't see anything about this. Any insight? Also anyone think this system will work with NHL pucklines or maybe in the NBA? I'm thinking if the FAV system was to work in the NBA you would have to bet on the ML because of the change in lines. What do you guys/gals think?Comment -

I don't recall, but I think it may end then...
I know several do. I can't remember if this one does or not.
May shut down the "official" plays at the end of August if it is still on the same paceComment -

#2914I've got to second what peterpan19 said. You'll have some home favorites in the NBA at -4500 if it's the Lakers at home against the Nets or something like that, maybe even more. We might try testing out the largest favorite each night against the spread, again like what peterpan19 said, but I don't think we should just jump right into that. I'm actually curious about NHL, because it's a ML sport like baseball. We can bet on the -1 puck line. Like the basketball one, though, we should test it out before using it for wagering.Originally posted by DustyDiamondI know that this is early, but does the FAV system end at the end of August? #2915Good luck with this one. I had considered the Jays but went against it because I don't like the pitching matchups tomorrow and Wednesday. As such, here are mine for tonight (not doing the FAV play because I just don't trust the Cubs):Originally posted by balls2wallgoing with TOR for my early play tonight
ATL (-125) - Risking 1.25 units to win 1 unit
STL (-166) - Risking 1.66 units to win 1 unit
MIL (-185) - Risking 1.85 units to win 1 unit
The Brewers owe me after what they did to the Twins. Plus, with Parra going tonight and Gallardo going tomorrow I like my chances in taking this in the A or B bet.Comment -

I have stl -1 marked for a possible play tonight so I may be on it with ya
The TOR play is just a single play for tonight. I may chase it if needed, but hoping it doesn't come to that. I will make that decision tomorrow if needed.
good luck

#2917The Brewers were going so well up 5-0 and then everything seemed to fall apart in three consecutive innings. Oh, well, on to a B bet on them. Playing the Fav play starting today with the Cards as an A bet, and adding one.Originally posted by JVP3122ATL (-125) - Risking 1.25 units to win 1 unit

#2921F*#king Brewers! I usually shrug off a loss but to be up like that and then choke to the Stros at home really blew. I am glad I laid off the Cubs. I lost more money on that team earlier this year than any. Pitt owns them and they still have Chi as over -200 fav...amazing. Hope the Cards bring it tonight. They also lost a lead and then had to put up a 3 run rally in the 9th to win. AZ is playing better ball lately. I wish that line was not so high. May sit this out too.Comment -

I am not an NHL guy, but would follow the thread if you wanted to track it. In fact, I never bet on NHL, but may if I had something like this that didn't require any real knowledge of the sport.

#2929Yeah, man! I think it'd be great to track it for NHL or even checking the spread stats on the largest NBA favorite each day. If not, we can always just follow some good NHL cappers like paco or DennisGreen.Originally posted by balls2wall

the only problem with the hockey I can think of off the bat is that the o/u lines and scores are generally much lower than the MLB
I would assume that translates into not as many wins by multiple goals (a lot more 1 goal wins).Comment -

#2938So I did a little back-checking on the previous NHL season. Instead of wagering on the -1PL in hockey, I thought about just straight winning and losing, because the lines are typically lower than they are in baseball. They tend to get higher towards the end of the season, though. I went off of the closing line each day from covers.com and even on a day when there was only one game I still took the result. As it were, if you followed just like we do for the baseball system, you'd be 145-1, and up 67.96 units at the end of the season (including playoffs). The breakdown is 101 wins on the A bet, 27 on the B, 11 on the C, 6 on the D. I have the spreadsheet if anyone wants it.Originally posted by peterpan19
