#3120to our thread alex123. Thank you, but I ended up in the red tonight - if you flat wagered them, you should have made a little. SEA had their chances, they did not take advantage of them, the game is over and I've moved forward.

#3122Saturday ended up going 6-3-0 which is nice but wasn't profitable as 8.54 units were taken from the accounts. Siggy will be updated later this morning but know this season's thread record is 185-136-5 winning at a 57.63% clip and +53.24 units.Comment -

#3128TA, no disrespect meant regarding what I wrote in DG's thread. I personally don't feel like it's worth it to start tailing someone mid-season, after they've already built up their roll and can afford to take a couple of risks. I wasn't tailing them specifically, merely using them as inspiration for my own experiment. I'm assuming you do more sports besides just baseball, and when the next season starts I look forward to making some money at your guidance.Comment -

My picks for today:
Rockies (jiminez) - 10 units
Marlins/Nats - over 9 runs - 5 units [heavy winds should favor hitting]
Giants/Mets - over 7.5 runs - 5 units [same logic regarding the winds plus lincecum has a poor record at the mets and perez is not good]
Phillies - RL -1.5 - 10 units
Reds - 5 units
Diamondbacks - 5 units
Rays - 5 units
Other leans:
Indians (Talbot)
Blue Jays (Romero)
Astros/Padres under 1H 4 runs

#3135yomillionaire, seeing you were here last season, you know there are going to be bumps, twists and hic-ups along the way - all going back to the same thing i said last year, play them all or don't play any of them. The balances are able to withstand these things (losses) but the cherry pickers could be in trouble. Really glad CWS got it done last night - that series can now be put to rest. What can I say about SEA, that I haven't already?

#3140OK, I'll take a shot at "Teams"
Those that can apparently win anywhere, no matter who they are playing
Example - NYY, PHI, TB, MIN
Disappointments - LAA, BOS, ATL, LAD, CHC (But when you drill down through the numbers it becomes obvious why.)
Middle Tier that can win on the road
Early Examples - SD, WAS, SFO, STL, TEX, DET, Maybe PIT
Not much time to cap, so I rely on what I see in here for my info. I look for a consensus and then glance at the records and pitchers, streaks, etc.Comment -

We are fine. I was informed of the post at last night's gathering and responded. I can understand the not from mid-season point of view. What I can and will tell you is that following the All-Star break your able to pick up some quick and easy units. At that point, the choice is your to either continue or pass. Ummm, I take very few days 'off' from making at least one wager, even while on 'vacation' - that's what cell phones are for. The only sport I did not post anything this past season was College Basketball until a certain date and time past. You and others are welcome in any seasonal/year round (horse racing) thread that I've started. Let's have a cash positive day/night today/tonight.Comment -

#3143Most of my picks start from the starting pitcher. Being a former pitcher I find it the best place to start. I will onlu take an under if I can trust both pitchers and one or both of the teams offenses' is struggling. When selecting a side I look for favorable pitching match ups. Like today, Cole Hamels has been pitching well lately and Kawakami is an average pitcher. Then I come up with a line that I think the game should be and if its close to what I think is a fair price I will probably go with it. Lastly I will make sure it is not getting heavily bet on. I will usually stay away if it has a high percentage of the bets on it.Comment -

#3144er? Just kidding yomillionaire, I now automatically have them sent to the spam folder and now don't have to deal with them any longer. Funny thing is any variation of the addy gets sent there as well and later this week a tech bud will set it up so it's from the same ISP and allow me to set a range. Haters pickers and whiners truly suck. How often you ever hear me state something like that? A perfect example from your response, "at the end of the year we should be in the green and that's all that counts" - you get 'it', unfortunately some don't. Like any and everything else, it just takes time.

#3146Terry, my system for calling games depends a lot on the pitching matchup and the head to head result of those respective pitchers against a team. Weather factors and team streaks also contribute to my line of thinking. Also, my home team, the Florida Marlins I usually get a nice read on them throughout the season because I watch almost every game each year and know them fairly well, so they usually provide for nice plays when I feel I have a nice read on them. As far as totals I rarely play them but when I do, it's usually 2 really crappy or untested pitchers going against each other (im usually on the over) or on the case 2 aces are pitching maybe ill consider the under. Care to shed some light on some things that sway you off from playing sides/ml/or total?Comment -
