    The Yankees won't let Boston get a leg up on them
    After Boston wins the bidding war on Daisuke Matsuzaka, the Yankees wouldn't let them win it on Kei Igawa. The Yankees spent 26 million on the rights just to sign him


    I'm sorry but this is getting totally crazy now that teams are spending millions of dollars just for the rights to sign players. It's just like the PSL's all over again.

      The funny thing is that Boston bid $51,111,111.11 for Matsuzaka. Makes you wonder if it was actually an ebay auction and the Yankees' bid of $51,111,110 got sniped in the last 4 seconds by the Red Sox.

          I really just find it funny that these teams are trying to out bid each other for just the rights to sign these Japan players. Thats just crazy.
