Morocco have been one of the major surprises at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. After beating Belgium 2-0 and topping a group that included the 2018 finalists, the North Africans are eager to impress once more as they meet Spain at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan on Tuesday.

Aesthetically pleasing and with an all-in vibe throughout the group stage, the Moroccans will face one of the strongest possible opponents for a place in the tournament’s quarterfinals. Spain raised eyebrows following their 2-1 defeat to Japan, which left them second in the group. But many saw their weak response to Japan leading as tactical, so they could avoid Brazil and Argentina before the final. Judging Spain by what they showed against Costa Rica (7-0) and Germany (1-1), Morocco must have more than one game plan to resist La Furia Roja.

Here are our Morocco vs. Spain picks (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook and FanDuel Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Morocco vs. Spain O/U Pick

Over 1.5 at halftime (+270) ★★★

Spain and Morocco are no time wasters, so the messages they’ll send one another will be made clear early in the game. Spain will look to control possession and make it count as soon as possible, while Morocco will look to find space in the “spider’s web” architected by Spain’s passes. Even if it won’t turn out to be a high-scoring game, this encounter will surely see loads of action taking place in the two boxes. At +270 via DraftKings, more than 1.5 goals in the first half looks too good to turn down.

Morocco vs. Spain Prop Pick

Spain to score in both halves (+192) ★★★

Spain can keep a high tempo for the whole match, with their game unaffected by details. Luis Enrique built a team with clear playing principles which guide all his players’ actions. His ‘drawing’ reminds fans of the famous tiki-taka which led Spain to world and European titles more than a decade ago. Spain create lots of chances and can score at any moment. At +192 via FanDuel, Spain to hit the net in both halves looks like a solid play for this match.

Morocco vs. Spain Parlay

Morata to shoot on target at least once in each half + Dani Olmo anytime assist (+1385) ★★★

Alvaro Morata and Dani Olmo have made sure that their presence is felt on the pitch in all of Spain’s matches at this tournament. Morata scored in all three games, while Olmo, who was always a threat to Spain’s opponents, has one goal and one assist thus far. Both are regular starters and manager Luis Enrique relies on them for attacking creativity. If the Spaniards are clicking offensively against Morocco, then surely these two will play a major role.
