The MLS All-Stars always have a bit of a home-field advantage in the game against their southern neighbors, and have turned that into a 2-1-1 record (in 90 minutes, and 3-1 overall) over the four previous meetings. 

It feels like this year's team has the edge in attacking depth, having a solid mix of proven MLS stars and international talent, headlined by players like Heung-Min Son and Evander. Chemistry is always a bit of a toss-up for this type of game; the rosters haven't had much time to gel, and substitutions will come fast and furious.

🦶 Who will score in MLS All-Stars vs. Liga MX All-Stars?

Heung-Min Son (+120)

This is a quarter-unit play, and even that I'm maybe not as comfortable with as I should be. I'm banking on Son to stay in for 60 minutes, hoping he doesn't get the hook at 30. He's the marquee name on the squad, will likely be involved early, and is one of the best pure finishers on either side of the field. Dean Smith will want to have his star shine early and get the home crowd involved early and heartily.

If this was a "sub on, play on" situation, like we often see with soccer, it's a no-brainer. But the uncertainty surrounding the playing time gives me some hesitation. Here's hoping we see at least the full first-half from the former Tottenham man.

🥅 Will both teams score in MLS All-Stars vs. Liga MX All-Stars?

I'm incredibly confident that both sides will score on Wednesday night. My projections have the game finishing between 3.2-3.5 goals (2-1, 2-2, 3-1 being frequent final scores), and with defense unlikely to be a top priority, both teams should have plenty of chances. Even with star defenders on the pitch, they won't be in sync with one another and won't be putting their bodies on the line to stop the other side from scoring. Even the Over 3.5 is listed as heavily as -275, and that's unlikely to be a one-sided affair.

However, the best sports betting sites are fully on board with BTTS - yes, and there's no value here. One of the better prices floating around is -600, and I think a fair price is in the -350 range (and even then I wouldn't see enough value to back it as an official play)
